The loaded ballot includes items at the federal, state and county levels. To see the district’s Proposition 1, turn your ballot over and read to the bottom.
If you’re not yet registered to vote, there’s still time (Oct. 28 deadline):
Online at votewa.gov
By mail with voter registration form
In person at Pierce County Elections Office
Ballots must be postmarked no later than Election Day or placed in a ballot drop box by 8 pm on Election Night.
Character Day at DEE!
It’s been wonderful to see our students embrace their favorite literary characters. Many of our Explorers searched the library, seeking inspiration from books to bring their characters to life. We hope this fun day has sparked even more excitement for reading and adventure!
Don’t forget about the PTA Carnival happening this evening! It’s a great opportunity to enjoy games, food, and community spirit. We can’t wait to see you all there!
As a reminder, please be mindful of safety in our parking lot, especially during drop-off and pick-up times, as well as for school events. Driving slowly and staying aware of your surroundings helps keep our campus safe for everyone.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend filled with stories and adventure!
DEE Soccer
Our 4th and 5th grade soccer team, coached by the dedicated trio of Mrs. Cutright, Mrs. Parke, and Mrs. Robbins had a great season! They demonstrated cooperation and commitment, showing true sportsmanship both on and off the field.
It has been wonderful to see their hard work and soccer skills improve over the last few weeks. Thank you to our coaches and players for all the effort and enthusiasm you’ve brought to our school! We’re so proud of you all!
Prop.1:Turf fields for safety and community use
Did you know that Prop. 1 on the Nov. 5 ballot includes 8 lighted multi-use turf fields districtwide for safe, year-round playability for students and the community? That includes a field at Donald Eismann Elementary, where the current grass field can't always be used due to weather.
Hear from parents about the field during a recent (Mario-themed!) fun run.
Learn more about Prop. 1 at sumnersd.org/vote.
Reminder: Veteran's Day Celebration
We need your help to create a heartwarming Veterans Day slideshow that will honor our incredible heroes. Do you have any family members or friends who have served in the military? We want to showcase their bravery, sacrifice, and dedication in a special way. Here's what you can do: Gather your favorite photos of your loved ones in uniform, during their service, or even at home with their military memorabilia. Whether it's a snapshot of your grandpa in his uniform or a picture of your aunt during her deployment, every photo tells a unique story. Let's celebrate these extraordinary individuals and their contributions to our country! Please email all photos to dee@sumnersd.org. Be sure to include:
- Student Name
- Veteran Name
- Veteran’s relationship to student
- Military Branch
In addition, you can decorate a star for your family member who served in the military. Please print the attached star, or come into the main office and pick one up. You can put a picture of your loved one on the star and decorate it. They will be doing this activity in SEL class, but you are welcome to do one on your own. When it is complete, you can drop it off in the main office.
Together, let's show our gratitude and appreciation for those who have served our nation with courage and valor.
