HCPS 411 Update

COVID-19 Updates
Masks Guidelines:
We are sharing the following due to the number of individual inquiries we have received inquiring about our current policy on masks in our schools. This information is available on hcps.org through both the homepage and COVID-19 resources F.A.Q.
The Board of Education of Harford County follows Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) guidelines on mask wearing in schools. The State Board mask requirement can be found here. MSDE has provided an FAQ about the off-ramps for the mask requirement here.
In their latest update, MSDE provided the following: At each monthly meeting, the State Board reviews current COVID-19 metrics in the State to assess the need for the continuation of the regulation; the next review will occur at the next State Board meeting on February 22, 2022.
KN95 Masks & COVID-19 Home Test Kits for Staff:
All KN95 masks and COVID-19 home test kits have arrived and been distributed. Shipments to each location should arrive by the end of the week.
COVID-19 Testing Clinics:
All staff can attend after-school testing clinics. Details are available in the employee COVID-19 FAQs: School-based Employees; Non-school based Employee.
*Note the schedule and locations will change starting February 28, 2022. The new schedule will be released in the next HCPS 411 Update.
Operational Status:
We are currently planning a new Operational Status for March 1, 2022. Note, it includes masks. If any changes occur, we will update the status as needed. A preview of this operational status is on SharePoint here.
