A Message from Fishers High School
The Fishers HS Girls Soccer team would like to invite all players interested in trying out this fall to our callout meeting that will take place at Fishers High School on Tuesday March 18 from 6:00-7:30 pm in the cafeteria.
All incoming freshmen through seniors who intend on trying out in August are encouraged to attend as are their parents. We will be sharing all the information about the program that you will need to know, and answering any questions you may have.
We look forward to seeing you and if you have any questions, please feel free to contact head coach Harold Spooner at hspooner@hse.k12.in.us
Rekindle Hope
The Student Council has learned of a school in Altadena, California that sadly has burned to the ground; The Odyssey School. Staff and administrators are currently trying to figure out a plan for their students to attend school until they can rebuild. The Student Council has decided to partner with this worthy cause. We will be selling "Rekindling Hope" t-shirts for The Odyssey School during lunch for just $15. All profits from this fundraiser will go directly to The Odyssey School to help in their rebuilding efforts.
T-shirts will be delivered to homeroom and RISE teachers as they are filled. Sales will run now through March 15th.
High School Musical Jr. is March 7th & 8th
You can visit our website to purchase tickets. Our website is: http://our.show/hijhmusicals
Adult tickets are $10, student tickets are $5. A credit card fee will apply and be added to your order for reservations made online.
Tickets can also be purchased in person the week of the show (March 3-7) during lunches, if you would prefer to send cash or a check (payable to HIJH) with your student to purchase.
Tickets for the Friday, March 7th, 4:30pm show are general admission. Tickets for all other performances are reserved seating, so you will choose your seats at the time of purchase, making it easier for families to plan ahead of time and to be able to sit together.
Library Update
Book Fair – Thank You!
Thank you, Panther students & families, for your support during our Think Spring Book Fair! And a special thank you to our PTO and all our parent volunteers who help tremendously with the running of our book fair! It was wonderful to see so many students excited about books and reading! We will share an update on the book fair impact after we have final numbers.
March Author Visit Updates
All 5th and 6th graders will have an opportunity to hear Varian Johnson speak in the afternoon. There is a contest running for 5th and 6th graders to introduce the author.
If you have a 7th or 8th grader you think would enjoy or benefit from a writing workshop with an author, encourage them to fill out the interest form in Canvas as soon as possible. We are prioritizing 7th and 8th graders for this opportunity, but we may open the interest form to other grades if numbers do not increase.
We will have a pre-order form available in the library and on Canvas early next week if any student wants to pre-order one of Varian Johnson’s books through an Indy area bookstore for him to sign during his visit. Students can also bring in a book from home of Varian Johnson’s for him to sign during his visit. Books from home by the author need to be dropped off on Friday, March 7 or Tuesday, March 11 to Mrs. Boudreau.
Varian Johnson is also visiting FCI and Hamilton East Public Library while in the area. If you are interested in hearing him speak at HEPL, there is more information on HEPL’s site here.
Panther Fest
Save the Date! Friday, March 28, 2025, from 6:30-8:30pm.
Join us for Panther Fest! This is our 5th & 6th grade night of fun. Enjoy inflatables, games, trivia, face painting and more! Wristbands will be $20. Concessions will be available as a separate purchase and are not included in the price of the wristband. This is a drop off event. All volunteers must have a current background check on file. No siblings or non-HIJH students may attend with volunteers.
Due to the large attendance for this event, we really need ADULT volunteers to make this a success! Please consider volunteering for a shift. Link to volunteer is below.

Test Anxiety
Symptoms of test anxiety to look for in your child could range from sweating, racing heart, fast breathing, butterflies in the stomach, stomachache, headache, shaking, feelings of nausea or passing out.
These symptoms can even happen among students who are academically capable. Some only feel butterflies in their stomach, while others might experience severe symptoms making it difficult to concentrate. However, research has shown that some level of nervousness can be helpful. It can aid in alertness, due to increased arousal levels.
Withdrawing Student from School
If your child is withdrawing from Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate/Junior High School, please notify the Counseling Department at least two days in advance of your child’s last day. Withdrawal forms must be signed by the parent/guardian.
