Youth Advisory Board (YAB)
Applications are available now to join the Missouri Suicide Prevention Network Youth Advisory Board (YAB). This organization provides a youth voice in suicide prevention efforts, ensuring initiatives are youth-informed and impactful. The YAB acts as a bridge between young people and the adult leadership of MSPN, contributing insights, feedback, and advocacy to guide programs and policies.

Applications are due by May 12.
Eligibility Criteria
To join the MSPN Youth Advisory Board, applicants must:
• Be between the ages of 14-19 (or up to 21 if enrolled in an educational transition program)
• Have a lived experience or strong interest in mental health and suicide prevention
• Obtain parental permission if under 18
• Commit to active participation in meetings and initiatives
Application Process
• Submit a completed application form (see Forms section) by scanning and emailing it to
admin@mospn.org. This form is due by May 15, 2025 for consideration for the 2025-26 school year.
• Participate in an informal interview process
• Obtain written parent/guardian consent (if applicable)
Member Expectations & Responsibilities
YAB members are expected to:
• Attend and actively participate in virtual monthly meetings and an annual in-person meeting to be held
in conjunction with the Missouri Association of Student Councils meeting
• Provide feedback on MSPN materials, policies, and initiatives
• Engage in public speaking, peer advocacy, and legislative outreach efforts
• Uphold MSPN’s core values of inclusivity, respect, and confidentiality
• Serve in leadership roles or as project leads when possible
