Welcome to Mrs. Jennifer Payne

Mrs. Payne will be our new preschool teacher starting January 7th. She loves to craft, garden, read, and spend time with her family. She received her associate’s degree in early childhood in 2011. She has been married for almost 15 years and has 3 children. She was blessed to be able to be a stay-at-home mom until they all reached school age. Then she went back to college to finish her teaching degree. She has loved being back in the teaching realm and seeing students and their lightbulbs lighting up!

We are excited to have her join our team at Andrews! We wish the best to Mrs. Booge. We hope to see her in the building subbing.

Winter Recess

Just a reminder, we go outside for recess every day unless the windchill is below 20 degrees. Your child may not think he or she needs a coat to walk from home to the car or bus, but 30 minutes outside is a long time without a coat. Please write your child's initials or name on the tag inside their coat. When coats get lost, it is very helpful for us to find the owner if the tag is labeled in some way. If your child is in need of a winter coat, please contact Ms. Cunningham, our counselor. Also, please send hats and gloves/mittens for your child. We have a lot of kids who come to the office during recess and want gloves.

New: Volleyball in HCCSC

We are excited to have our first volleyball season at the elementary level. Fifth grade boys and girls are able to participate in the team. They will have after school practices and a district tournament on Saturday, February 15th at The HNHS Field House.

Winter Conferences

Teachers will hold winter conferences on January 30th from 4:00-8:00 PM. Teachers will contact you if they wish to schedule a conference. You can also contact your child's teacher if you wish to schedule a conference. If your child is doing well and you don't have any concerns, you do not need to schedule a winter conference.

Substitute Recess Monitor Needed

We are in need of additional substitutes for recess monitor. The hours would be 11:00-1:30 each day. Duties include supervising groups of students on the playground. If you enjoy working with children, this could be a great way to have a little extra money and still be able to be home for your family before and after school and on vacations.
