Mustang Minutes
Sharing our Nashua + Mustang PRIDE
November 29 2024
Good afternoon McCarthy Mustangs!
We’re excited to kick off Trimester 2 on Monday! This trimester will feature our new Unified Art classes. Please note that due to scheduling constraints, class changes are not possible at this time. Report cards for Trimester 1 will be available on the Aspen portal on December 9. Be sure to check your Aspen Family Portal for updates. If you need assistance accessing your portal, please contact the main office.
Only fifteen days to the school calendar, but December is shaping up to be an exciting month at McCarthy! We have our School Dance – December 5 and Winter sports season is back in full swing! Athletes are already practicing and gearing up for a great season. December 6, sixth graders will have the privilege of hearing from Peter Nhiany, who will share his powerful story of being a refugee from Sudan. His experiences offer important lessons in resilience and empathy.
Join us for our first Winter Concert on December 10 at McCarthy! The chorus and band will perform, showcasing their hard work and talent. It’s sure to be a festive evening! Please note that December 11 will be an early release day, coinciding with our Entrepreneurial Fair. Seventh-grade students will be heading to the Palace Theatre on December 13 to enjoy a performance of A Christmas Carol. It’s always a memorable experience!
8th Grade Save the Date: Entrepreneurial Fair
A few weeks ago, our 8th grade students kicked off an exciting Entrepreneurial Fair Project, where they are creating holiday-themed, non-edible DIY products to sell as part of a fundraiser. The fair will take place during the school day on December 11 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., and we invite families to join us and support the students' hard work. This project blends lessons from math, business, art, and communication, giving students a hands-on, interdisciplinary experience as they learn to create, market, and sell their products. It’s a great opportunity to see their creativity and entrepreneurial skills in action!
Student Events and Updates
Please confirm with your child that they are staying after school with a staff member. The main office closes by 4pm, and children need a late pass to get on the bus from a staff member. We do not allow children to stay after and ride the late bus if they do not have a reason to be at MMS after the last bell!
The Craft Club returns on Thursday after school with Mrs. Pelletier! For $5 a month, students can stop by and create a craft with friends. For more information, visit D118!
STEAM club meets on Wednesdays in Mr. Morris's room. It's been a busy turn out so far, and we are excited to see what you engineer!
