Counseling Corner
October 2024
Thanks for visiting our October newsletter. We have helpful informational links and dates listed below. We have been busy meeting with Seniors for an academic check-in to ensure a timely graduation. It's important to focus on current school work, but also continue firming up a plan for after high school.
We are excited to announce we began our series of College and Career Speakers that are being facilitated monthly in a Thursday homeroom. All students have been invited through class connects to these session as optional. If you are interested in learning more about the specifc careers, it's a great opportunity to gather more information to help you in future planning.
It's also important to attend homerooms on Monday and Tuesday as many times Academic and Career Planning lessons are being delivered to help you in your post-secondary planning. There are so many options out there for you all whether it's college, employment, military or apprenticeship and we encourage you to pick the best fit for YOU! This is your future and anything is possible!
Attention 12th Graders

Schedule Change Deadlines
October 11th- Last day to ADD a class for your current Fall Schedule
November 29th- Students who drop a course at this time will be dropping with an "F" which will be reflected on a students transcript. We encourage those students struggling in a class to work with their teacher to bring their grade to passing. There is still plenty of time left in the semester to increase a students grades. All semester grades are not final until the end of the semester mid-January.
We also want to apologize to a handful of students who may have been integrated into a class late this semester when the class should have started at the beginning of the school year. Administration, Operations and Counselors have been working in the background to clean up the errors when schedules were mass scheduled.

Interested in a Nurse Aid Certification? Becoming a CNA?
While many students are able to access this same training through the state technical college system, there may be barriers to some in terms of schedule, location, and class availability.
In those cases, here are some ways in which the Institute can be of help:
1. Classes can be completed in just 2 – 3 weeks
2. Classes are offered during the day and at night
3. Classes are offered at 12 Education Centers located in Lodi, Fennimore, Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Bloomer, Rice Lake, Osseo, Frederic, Spooner, Superior, St. Croix Falls, Menomonie, and growing!
4. Classes are offered on a rolling schedule, so if life happens and a student gets sick, has a death in the family, etc. they can be easily transferred into the next class and still get done quickly.
5. Certification testing is done at 8 of the Institute’s Education Centers, including Lodi, allowing students to train and test in a known and comfortable environment.
6. Cost of the class is just $535 per student, which includes all textbooks and written materials.
If you have any questions about this information or would like to learn more about the Institute, please feel free to reach out via email at info@healthcareworkforcetraining.com at any time or by calling us at 715-726-3849.
