Welcome Back to Wellington!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful summer with their families! I hope you have had a great deal of happiness and fun during our time out of school. Our custodians have been hard at work making our building beautiful, our teachers will soon begin to get their classrooms set up, and we can't wait to meet our incoming Kindergarten students on August 1 and 2 for Kindergarten Ignite!
I know this time of the year brings a multitude of feelings for our students and families. It is normal to feel both excited and a little anxious about the upcoming school year! Your child's teacher will send a message introducing themselves and sharing classroom-specific information via Talking Points on Monday, August 5th. Our doors will open to all families for our annual Welcome to Wellington Open House on Wednesday, August 7th from 5:00-6:30 p.m. You may bring your school supplies to the classroom, meet your teacher, get your child’s complimentary 2024-25 Wellington t-shirt, join the PTA, and more!
I am very excited to share that Wellington qualifies for Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the USDA’s National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. CEP allows our school’s enrolled students to receive a daily breakfast and lunch meal at no charge, regardless of income or completion of a form. Our district is now serving 58 CEP approved schools for the 2024-25 school year. More details about CEP qualifications and FAQ’s can be found here, on our page: www.fcps.net/food and https://www.fcps.net/fs/resource-manager/view/2b68a396-a5b6-4cbd-8677-f731a88b2d1c .
It’s going to be a great year and we cannot wait to see you!

Talking Points Communication
Talking Points is our main school communication tool. You will receive messages from your child's teacher as well as school-level announcements throughout the year. Talking Points has two-way communication capabilities, allowing you to easily communicate with Wellington staff. Messages will arrive via text message or you can download the free app here: https://bit.ly/3OHpsGO
Talking Points will use the information you have provided in Infinite Campus. Please make sure your child's family contact information is up-to-date so you do not miss important information!
How to Update Information in Infinite Campus
Your help updating your contact information for your children is greatly appreciated! We are no longer able to complete this step at the school level, so it is very important that you take a few minutes to look at each child’s information. You can access the Parent Portal here.
The Parent/Student User Guide has step-by-step instructions for many of the most frequently asked questions. There are several pages, but the most pertinent to updating your personal information are pages 1, 2, and 8, 9.
The information in Infinite Campus is imported from the registration you completed for your child when they registered, so in most cases Kindergarten. It is not uncommon to have new phone numbers, addresses, or people that are eligible to pick up your child over the elementary period. Your help in this will make our notifications to you all the more timely!
Transportation - Very Important!
Your child's safe arrival home from school is one of our most important items to prepare for!
- Families of Kindergarten and new-to-Wellington students will receive a link to complete transportation very soon.
- Transportation for returning students will roll-over from last year and you will verify this at Welcome to Wellington.
Please be sure your information is updated in Infinite Campus so we have a smooth transition back to school!
