Bulldog Blast
9/13/2024
Note From Principal Pautler
Greetings Bulldogs ~
I'm not even sure what happened to this week. After we pass Labor Day - school time goes into some sort of weird Matrix and the days flow together. Additionally, we're in the heart of fall sports seasons so it's one event after another. Today we recognized some of those activities at our spring sports (and more) assembly. Let's take a moment and talk about assemblies.
You remember back a couple of years ago when you were in high school - going to assemblies? Personally, I don't remember much of the content - I just remember sitting with friends and having a great time. I hail from Indiana and we had this phenomenon going around at the time (early 90's) called Donkey Basketball. In essence - the students voted on teachers that they wanted to see play basketball WHILE RIDING DONKEYS! If you were selected to play - I'm sure it was a blessing and a curse. Getting bucked off the donkey was a common occurrence and injuries were part of the fun. Anyone else ever have donkey basketball in their area? I tell you all this as a lead in to how AMAZING our STUCO is for putting together our assemblies. This takes a lot of time! There are videos - screaming - dancing - and more! All in a PACKED gym. As a side note - not all of our students choose to go to assemblies. We certainly encourage students to attend. However, if the crazy environment is not the perfect fit - we have alternate locations for students to hang out - supervised of course. If you've never come to one of our assemblies - think about it in the future. They really area a BLAST - well for the kids... For the admin team - it's like 45 minutes of stress followed up by lots of Rolaids to get ride of the stressed out stomach. I wonder if my high school principal was as worked up as I get - while they were bringing in LIVE DONKEYS into the gym!!?? Ahh - the good old days.
Big game tonight as we celebrate 30 years of EDLAM. Should be a great game as we take on the Edmond North Huskies.. Come on out and join us! Game starts at 7:00p... See you there!

Senior Meeting for Caps and Gowns
Next Thursday, Sept. 19, we will be having our annual senior meeting for ordering caps and gowns, going over all info related to cost, reserving caps/gowns and going over honor cords. Seniors will be dismissed by intercom at 9:55 and the meeting should be over at 10:40 with seniors being back in class no later than 10:45.
For our morning Francis Tuttle seniors and concurrent seniors, we will be having a make up meeting in room 254 at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. It will be over by 3:15 so some athletes will be a bit late to practice and some seniors will be late to seventh hour. A pass will be written for them.
ATTENTION CLASS OF 2025

And be on the lookout for a link to order the official EMHS 2025 Senior Class shirts and sweatshirts on August 1. An email and remind message will be sent out on or around that date with a link to order shirts, as well as a list of important senior dates.
