A HUGE SHOUT OUT to our 3rd-6th grade students for their hard work on our AASA state testing. They completed Writing, ELA, Math as well as ORF (3rd) and AzSCI (5th). Thank you to our K-2 students for your flexibility with alternative schedules and extra quiet hallway behavior to support our 3-6 testers. We will be holding make-up testing sessions next week for any absent 3rd-6th grade students, but the rest of our students will resume normal schedules and academic routines. With only 6 weeks left of school, our staff is eager to close out units and begin enrichment learning to prepare students for the next grade level.

GOT TAX CREDITS?!

Your school tax credit donations can provide our students with a variety of experiences that are not provided through federal and state funds. Legend Springs tax credit funds are typically used to support our special area programs AND fund our All Things E.Q. positive behavior program. We truly appreciate you supporting our school!

• The Arizona tax credit program (A.R.S. 43-1089.01) allows a tax credit of up to $200 for individuals and up to $400 for married couples, filing jointly, in support of extracurricular activities.

• The tax credit reduces your tax burden to the state of Arizona, dollar for dollar.

• In order to take advantage of the tax credit donation for the 2024 tax year, you must make your donation by April 15, 2025.

• Your tax credit goes directly to the school you choose, not to the state or district.

The Legend Springs Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a group of parents, teachers, community members and friends who are all about supporting our school, staff and students at Legend Springs Elementary. Any family living in Arizona who would like to attend a school that is outside their home school boundaries may apply for Open Enrollment into a DVUSD school. Please view the School Boundary Maps to determine if the school you are applying for is not currently your home school.

Applications will be reviewed starting in January and approved if the school has availability. Visit www.dvusd.org/openenrollment for more information.

Families will be notified by email if the completed application has been approved, denied, or placed on a wait list. Upon an approved email notification, you must register online to the approved school no later than 10 days after the notification of the approval, or the student forfeits the approved Open Enrollment and will need to reapply.
