SCHOOL-WIDE AASA TESTING IS COMPLETE!
A HUGE SHOUT OUT to our 3rd-6th grade students for their hard work on our AASA state testing. They completed Writing, ELA, Math as well as ORF (3rd) and AzSCI (5th). Thank you to our K-2 students for your flexibility with alternative schedules and extra quiet hallway behavior to support our 3-6 testers. We will be holding make-up testing sessions next week for any absent 3rd-6th grade students, but the rest of our students will resume normal schedules and academic routines. With only 6 weeks left of school, our staff is eager to close out units and begin enrichment learning to prepare students for the next grade level.
We also have several upcoming events, including Field Day, STEAM Night, and our PTO Basket Raffle LIVE NOW! Don't forget DVUSD is also hosting the Spring Job Fair this Saturday, April 12th.
See the newsletter below for links to the basket raffle, details on final tax credit options, JobFair event information, summer camps and more.
Have a great weekend!

GOT TAX CREDITS?!
GOT TAX CREDITS?!
Your school tax credit donations can provide our students with a variety of experiences that are not provided through federal and state funds. Legend Springs tax credit funds are typically used to support our special area programs AND fund our All Things E.Q. positive behavior program. We truly appreciate you supporting our school!
The Arizona tax credit program (A.R.S. 43-1089.01) allows a tax credit of up to $200 for individuals and up to $400 for married couples, filing jointly, in support of extracurricular activities.
The tax credit reduces your tax burden to the state of Arizona, dollar for dollar.
In order to take advantage of the tax credit donation for the 2024 tax year, you must make your donation by April 15, 2025.
Your tax credit goes directly to the school you choose, not to the state or district.
K-6, K-8 and Middle Schools: Tax credits can be submitted online by clicking here
Don't want to donate online? Form can be downloaded here and checks can be mailed or delivered. Your tax credit receipt will be mailed back to you.

WHAT DO WE DO ON 2:00PM RELEASE DAYS?
What is a PLC?
A Professional Learning Community (PLC) is a collaborative approach to professional development where educators work together to improve their teaching skills and the academic performance of their students. Within a PLC, teachers regularly meet to discuss and analyze student performance data, share teaching strategies, and develop interventions to address any learning gaps. The core idea is to foster a culture of continuous improvement and collective responsibility for student success.
Why Do We Have Early Release for PLC Time?
Early release days are scheduled to provide our teachers with dedicated time to engage in PLC activities without the distraction of other school responsibilities. This uninterrupted time is essential for effective collaboration and planning. Here are some key reasons for this:
Focused Collaboration: Teachers can work together to analyze student data, identify learning trends, and develop targeted strategies to support each student's academic growth.
Professional Development: PLC time allows teachers to share best practices, attend training sessions, and stay current with educational research and methodologies.
Consistency and Continuity: Regularly scheduled PLC time ensures that collaborative efforts are ongoing and consistent, which is crucial for long-term improvement in teaching and learning.
Improved Student Outcomes: Research shows that schools with strong PLCs tend to see higher student achievement. By investing time in professional collaboration, we are directly investing in our students' success.
