Port Gardner received a STEM classroom grant from the Everett Public Schools Foundation for new non-fiction AR readers and a STEM field trip in the spring!

Mrs. Johnson’s Art of Architecture class was one of 16 classes in the state whose ornament design was selected to be on display at the Washington State Governor’s mansion on the 2024 holiday tree. The theme of the tree this year is “Celestial: The Moon, Stars, and Sun.”

Mrs. Johnson’s second and third graders integrated this theme with Port Gardner’s theme “Space for All of Us” along with incorporating the Washington State capitol dome and our state tree, the Western Hemlock. The ornament represents Washington State as a beautiful place with space for a rich diversity of people. Students will each receive a certificate from the governor’s office.

Mrs. Wight's middle school ELA students help her pilot an AI tool.

They used AI to create their idea of what a Utopia is for the start of the new unit.
