Winter Break is Here!
Have a great Winter break School Resumes Jan 8th
Parents it was an awesome semester. Thank you for helping get your students to school, for helping them with their work, and for participating in our programs and games. I loved learning the stories of so many of our students and watching them learn. As we move into next semester we have lots of work to do. Students have been making great progress in their tested subjects. I know they are going to do great as they take their STAAR tests in April. This helps them prepare for thier High School EOC tests.
We have hired some new teachers that will start in January. Mr. Garcia, 8th grade math will retire in December and as you may have heard Mr. Martinez 7th grade advanced math is no longer with us, we have hired both of their replacements with two new teachers that have just graduated from TLU. We have also hired a new teacher for 7th grade history. She is relocating back to this area and she will start with us in Mid January. Thank you for the patience as we have worked to find and get the best teachers for their replacements. Our math department have worked hard to secure these replacemens and they are developing good plans to get the students caught back up. I'm sure that the students will like these three new staff memebers and I look forward to get to work with them as well.
Thanks again for helping make Jim Barnes Middle School a great place for students to excel. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Remember we are One Team, Learning Together, Elevating Excellence. ¡Ole!
No Glass Bottles
There has been several glass breaks in the hallways and we need to make sure that our students and staff remain safe. Parents make sure your stduents are not bringing any items in glass containers. Thanks

Boys Basketball Report
Last night your boys basketball team was in action. They hosted the La Vernia Bears, we finished the night 2-2. Below are some notable players of the games.
8A lost 54-29
-Offensive player of the game goes to James Castillo. He went 4/12 from the field.
-Mr Hustle goes to Asher Weaver. He played big in the paint fighting for every rebound he got. Asher helped extend plays by his speed and hustle!
8B won 38-28
-Player of the game goes to Kayden McClure. He was in his bag all night long. Hitting multiple shots from deep. He was a scoring machine. When he wasn’t hitting a 3 he was taking it to the rim at will. On defense he was a big. Forcing multiple steals that lead to easy points
-Mr. Hustle goes to Pablo Morales. He was like a DB on defense. Getting multiple steals and starting fast court breaks. With the ball in his hands he was dangerous. Taking the ball to the rim whenever he wanted to.
7A won 28-17
-Players of the game: Jo’Joshua Aldana with 9 points and Martin Magaña scoring 8 points and 8 steals
-Mr. Hustle: Kason Kiel coming up with 7 steals and 5 rebounds
