A Note from Mrs. Smith, Principal
Gator Families,
We hope you have had a GREAT start to the school year! We had a great turn out for our Parent Information Nights this week. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you were unable to attend so they can fill you in on our academics, classroom procedures, school procedures, and all the fun we have planned.
Have an incredible 3 day weekend with family and friends.
Growing better together,
Mrs. Smith
Dismissal for preK, kindergarten and 1st grade walkers
Just a reminder that if you have a walker you are picking up, you should not be parking on school property and walking to get them. This is unsafe for our walkers and creates traffic issues during dismissal. The area between the sidewalk and tree is not a parking space. Parking there is not safe for our students, parents and staff. It can also cause damage to the sidewalk as when you are pulling out, you drive over the sidewalk. The side dirt parking is for our staff members.
Thank you so much for working with us and helping ensure that we keep our Gators safe.

School Arrival and Dismissal...
Just a friendly reminder that the school day starts at 7:55 a.m. this school year. We will begin counting tardies soon and parents will need to walk in with their child to sign them in. Our doors open at 7:25 a.m. and we encourage you to get here early to provide your child with ample time to prepare for the upcoming school day. Breakfast is served from 7:25 a.m. with the cafeteria closing at 7:55 a.m. to begin breakfast cleanup and preparation for lunch. Our announcements begin at 7:50 a.m. and learning begins at 7:55 a.m..
Our dismissal begins at 3:10 p.m.. 2nd/3rd/4th grade walkers will be release at this time to depart campus on their own. The car rider line will begin at this time as well. Our PK, KG and 1st grade walkers will be picked up on the side of the building outside the front playground. An adult with a green sign will be required to pick them up every day. We also do not release them with older siblings. Our car rider line ends when the last car is scanned. If you arrive after that, you will be required to park and come in to sign your child out. We understand things come up from time to time, if for some reason you will be arriving later than 3:30 p.m., please contact the front office so they can plan accordingly.
All things transportation can be found below, including the latest you can pick up a student, how to change transportation and more!
Attendance Matters!
Did You Know?
- Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause a child to fall behind in school.
- Missing 10% or about 2 days of school each month over the course of a school year can make it harder to learn to read.
- Students can still fall behind if they miss one or two days every few weeks.
- Being late to school or leaving school early lead to poor attendance.
- Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.

Counselor's Corner
Happy, Healthy Kids Counselor Tip:
As we transition back to school, remember the value of having open and frequent conversations with your child about their day. One tip is to show excitement about the things your child is learning and listen to what your child has to share. Listening to someone for two minutes is a great way for someone to feel valued and understood. If your child has ‘back to school’ worries, offer them a sense of control. For example, let them choose an outfit to wear to school, or let them add a special treat to their lunch.
In August, all Glen Loch students learned more about Mrs. Bernu and her role through “Meet the School Counselor” lessons in the library. In September, we will learn about the character trait “Respect”. I’m looking forward to working with you and our Glen Loch Gators this year!
Assistance Request

NEW Parent Portal
We are looking forward to a great school year. In an effort to help our parents, the District is moving to a Parent Portal for parents to access information about their child. You will login similar to the way your child does for school (similar to the SSO) to access school information.
All parents/guardians will need to enroll to create an account. You will need the email address that is associated with your child's record. Once you enter the email, you will be prompted to create a password.
Please click Parent/Portal Directions for instructions or o to Conroe ISD's Website, then Parents/Students to access the link to the Parent Portal. To access the Parent Portal, navigate to http://parents.conroeisd.net.
We hope that you enjoy this transition to a new and convenient platform!
We LOVE Our Volunteers!
We truly appreciate the spirit and dedication of our volunteers! Your willingness to contribute your time and skills creates a positive impact that resonates throughout our entire school community. Volunteering offers a unique opportunity to make a difference, connect with like-minded individuals, and gain new experiences in a supportive environment. Whether you're looking to lend a hand in organizing events, support our classrooms and teachers, or share your expertise in a specific area, your contribution will be invaluable.
If you're inspired to contribute and be a part of our school community on another level, we would love to have you on board! The first step to volunteer is to go through the CISD volunteer check by clicking here. This check is good for one school year and must be done in July for the upcoming school year. You can keep an eye out for volunteer opportunities in the Fall! Let's work together to create a positive impact and strengthen our school community.
