FEBRUARY'S CHARACTER TRAIT IS HONESTY
FEBRUARY'S PRAYER FOCUS
“For the laughter of the children, for my own life breath, for the abundance of food on this table, for the ones who prepared this sumptuous feast, for the roof over our heads and the clothes on our backs, for our health, and our wealth of blessings, for this opportunity to celebrate with family and friends, for the freedom to pray these words without fear, in any language, in any faith, in this great country, whose landscape is as vast and beautiful as her inhabitants, thank you God for giving us all these.” Amen.

A MOMENT IN BLACK HISTORY
RETIRED MASTER SERGEANT JOY MITCHELL
In observance of Black History Month, we recognized two important African American females that contributed greatly to our military by their outstanding service. We brought to light the services of Retired Master Sergeant Joy Mitchell. MSG Mitchell performed duties as a Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Noncommissioned Officer and an Equal Opportunity Senior Advisor. She faithfully served 23 years, and notably, she was the second African American female to attain the rank of MSG in the Active PSYOP Regiment. Thank you for your service!
CHARITY ADAMS EARLEY
She was the first African-American woman to become an officer in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (later WACs) and was the commanding officer of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, which was made up of African-American women serving overseas during World War II. Adams was the highest-ranking African-American woman in the Army by the completion of the war.
