Thank you, Iron Mountain Fire Department!
THANK YOU to the City of Iron Mountain Fire Department for visiting North Elementary students last week with the Iron Mountain Fire Safety House!
After students learned to crawl on their hands and knees through a mock house fire and how to escape safely, they received a tour of a fire engine and got to try on real equipment! Students were reminded to learn their address!
The Fire Safety House mimics a house fire with "smoke" so students learn how to avoid it while safely escaping. The traveling trailer makes its way across the UP to local school districts every year since 1994.
18th Annual Volley for a Cure
Thank you to all that attended last Tuesday's 18th Annual Volley for a Cure event at the Iron Mountain vs. Houghton volleyball game and those who donated to a great cause!
The Mountaineers put up a great fight tonight but were defeated by the Gremlins.
Thank you McDonald's and Killian Management!
Thank you to all that came out and supported the Iron Mountain Public Schools elementary schools at McTeacher's Night on Wednesday!
Thank you to Killian Management and the Iron Mountain McDonald's for their support once again in this FUNdraiser!
Seeking clothes closet donations!
If you are able, please consider donating gently used clothing for our Clothing Closet.
We are currently running very low on girls and boys sizes 5-10 pants.
Please send donations along with your student or drop them off at the North Elementary School Main Office.
Our Clothing Closet clothes children in the district who are in need, as well as children who may have accidents or messes at school throughout the day.
Thank you for any help you can provide!
Congratulations to the 5-12th Grade Student of the Week, Georgia Mundy!
Georgia Mundy, junior, is the daughter of Erin Recla, Craig Recla, and George Mundy. Georgia is a hard-working, intelligent young woman who always comes to class ready to learn and ready to encourage others. She is an excellent student and role model. Georgia is involved in Volleyball, Tri-Hi-Y, Environmental Club, Art Club, Band Council, Student Council, YAC, Jazz Band, Varsity Club, Science Olympiad, Mountaineer Mindset and National Honor Society. Georgia is a strong Mountaineer and we are extremely proud of her!
