CIS Flight Log
Sept. 10, 2024 | Volume 10, Issue 7
Sept. 11 is Patriots Day
Tomorrow we will recognize Patriot's Day in remembrance of the devastating events of September 11th, 2001. We would love to see our staff and students wearing Red, White and Blue. Please remind students that this is a day of remembrance and not celebration. We ask that there be no face paint, hats, wigs or any other items that could be a distraction.
MORNING CARLINE
The morning carline has seen a significant decrease in the past week. Only a handful of cars are arriving between 7:30 and 7:35. Our tardy bell rings at 7:35 and students arriving after this time will be issued a tardy pass to class.
Do you want to recognize a teacher or staff member that you think goes above and beyond? Please use this form to let us know!!
IMPACT TEAM INTEREST MEETING IS WED. 9/11!! SEE FLIER FOR MORE DETAILS!
CHARACTER EDUCATION
We are excited to start off Character Education this year in the month of September. For the month of September, we will focus on the trait of responsibility. We encourage students to show responsibility by being dependable, making good choices, and taking accountability for your actions. Teachers will be encouraging this character trait throughout the month too. They will be on the lookout for students that show responsibility well. We will have our September winners announced towards the end of the month. These winners will also be in flight log, be on the TV screens in the CIS building, receive WINGS cash, receive a certificate, and receive a phone call home. Please reach out to Ms. LeMoine if you have any further questions about our monthly award. We look forward to seeing different ways students are responsible this month!!
VISION AND HEARING SCREENING FOR OUR 5TH GRADE STUDENTS
On September 24th, CIS will be hosting vision and hearing screenings for our 5th grade students as well as new to D5 students in 6th grade. A team of Registered Nurses from our school district will be here to run the screening for us on that day.
Please ensure that if your student wears glasses that they have them with them on this day. Also, if you would like to opt your student out of one or both tests, please email Nurse Tracey Abercrombie (Tabercro@lexrich5.org) and the teacher together in the same email and they will ensure that your student does not test.
