WHAT'S UP AT WMS?
BOOKMOBILE VISIT
The Watertown Free Public Library's Bookmobile came to visit WMS! This was an awesome time for our students to check out some books, learn more about what the library offers, and how to sign up for a library card. Thank you to our amazing librarian Ms. Cabral for setting this up!
DRUMMING MASTERCLASS
Master West African Drummer, Sidi Joh Camara, led our eighth grade music students in a master class this past week. Professor Camara demonstrated the three major sounds that djembes (West African hand-drum) produce and led the students in learning a traditional rhythm from his home country of Mali. This is the first in our series of drumming masterclasses with Professor Camara who also teaches the high school World Percussion Ensemble.
