- PARKING! Because of construction, campus parking is limited. Please arrive early.
- Please check the attached Open House Available Parking map.
Street parking is available, please do not block driveways. [Blocking driveways could result in a ticket or car towed by LVMPD]
- Do not park in the Family Center Parking Lot across from the Performing Art Center. The Center has an event on Wednesday night.
- There is a pay parking lot across from the school on 7th Street.

Juniors! Order and Pay for Your PSAT/NMSQT in the School Bank
The National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will take place the week of October 14 at LVA. The exact date will be announced next week. Juniors who wish to take the exam may reserve a test for $18. The deadline to pay is September 5. Pay by cash or check in the school bank.
The PSAT/NMSQT is the only qualifying test for the the National Merit® Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships conducted by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). For more information, visit www.nationalmerit.org.
Reminder! Bank Accepting Payments of Cash or Check Only
- Due to the CCSD transition to a new banking system, LVA must immediately STOP accepting credit card/debit card payments in the school bank until the new system is in place.
- We appreciate your understanding and patience as the new CCSD banking system is anticipated to roll out in September.
- The banker will accept cash and checks for all payments.
- The student store in the cafeteria is still accepting credit/debit cards. [It is on a different system]
- Updates regarding the new CCSD system will be released to students and parents as it become available.
Reminder! Important Need to Know Policies and Procedures & Student Handbook
The LVA Student Handbook includes important expectations, policies, and procedures for students. Parents/guardians and students are expected to read, review and discuss these expectations at the beginning of the year. The handbook, expectations, policies and procedures are located online at lasvegasacademy.net, under Students/Parents.
Reminder! High School Photo Contest
In partnership with Walker Furniture & Mattress, students are invited to enter the Walker Furniture 2024-2025 photography competition. The theme for this year's competition is "Survival in the Desert: Water." Please review the attached guidelines and share the contest information with your high school students.
Entries must include a printed/legible label of the student's information, and photographs must be received by Thursday, September 12, 2024. Please deliver y0ur entries to the address listed below.

Seniors, juniors and sophomores can apply to become BigFuture® Ambassadors. Sponsored by College Board, ambassadors help friends connect with colleges and get career guidance.
Ambassadors help their classmates plan for career and college while in high school. That includes helping their classmates use the BigFuture® School mobile app to access their PSAT/NMSQT® scores, connect with nonprofit colleges and scholarship providers, and get career and college insights. Ambassadors also empower their classmates to use BigFuture.org to find careers, colleges, scholarships, and more.
Ambassadors are part of a national community of hundreds of students who connect with each other through Zoom meetings and support each other via Discord.
Apply by Friday, August 30 to be an ambassador.

Parent/guardian volunteers are needed throughout the year to assist with chaperoning, events, setting up special activities, and more. Please add your name to volunteer and support LVA students.
