Introduction

Welcome to the first edition of the Washington Irving School #4 newsletter! I am thrilled to connect with you and share the exciting happenings at our school! As the principal, it is my privilege to be a part of this community of dedicated educators, curious learners, and supportive families.

This newsletter will serve as a hub for important updates, upcoming events, and celebrations of our student's many achievements. The goal is to use this as another way to keep you informed and engaged as we work together to create a wonderful environment for our learners.

Our Grade 3 Students are Music Makers!

During the first trimester, our third graders worked on writing their own music! Each class wrote the lyrics and sang on songs that they made up together! Here are the links to each class' song!

Math Champions!

In early December, our Math Team competed against all of the schools in Garfield and won! School #4 will hold the title of Math Champions for the next year!

Grade 5 Visits the Senior Center

Our 5th graders took a trip to the Senior Center to sing and spread some holiday joy!

The GHS Select Choir stopped by for a Visit

Members of the high school's Select Choir stopped by the school to sing to our students! It was great to see a few of our School #4 Alumni, as well!

Perfect NJSLA score!

Congratulations to Nikola Galowicz for achieving a perfect score on her NJSLA test!!
