Farnsley Girls Basketball: Rising Stars Shine Bright Before Winter Break
As the winter break approaches, the Farnsley Girls Basketball program is making waves in the local basketball scene. Both the varsity and junior varsity teams are showcasing incredible skill and determination, turning heads with their impressive performances on the court.
The varsity team has emerged as a formidable force this season, boasting an impressive 7-2 record. With a 3-1 record in district play, they currently hold second place, solidifying their status as one of the top contenders in the region. The team’s success is particularly remarkable given that it is led predominantly by a young core of 7th and 6th graders. Despite their youth, these players have demonstrated a level of maturity and composure that belies their age.
The junior varsity team, meanwhile, remains unbeaten, with a flawless 6-0 record. Their dominance on the court has been a testament to the depth and talent within the program. The future of Farnsley basketball looks incredibly bright, thanks to the development of these young athletes.
In their most recent outing, the Farnsley JV Girls delivered a commanding 22-4 victory over Hudson. Cyonna Deal led the charge with 8 points, while Norriyah Boyd and SaMya Young each contributed 6 points to the dominant win. The team’s impressive record and cohesive play highlight their potential to remain undefeated as the season progresses.
Credit must go to Coaches Struggs and Poyntz, who have their teams playing at a high level. Their leadership and ability to cultivate a winning culture have been instrumental in the teams’ success. Under their guidance, both teams have not only improved their technical skills but also their mental approach to the game.
Key contributors for both the varsity and junior varsity teams include standout players Cyonna Deal, Norriyah Boyd, and SaMya Young. These young stars have consistently delivered when it matters most, providing the spark and leadership needed to secure victories. Their performances have inspired their teammates and elevated the overall play of the entire program.
As the season progresses, expectations are high for an outstanding finish once the teams return from the winter break. With their current momentum and the guidance of their coaches, the Farnsley Girls Basketball teams are poised to achieve great things. Fans and supporters eagerly await their return to action, confident that these rising stars will continue to shine on the court.
Boys Basketball Future Is Bright
The Farnsley Middle School boys’ basketball program is off to a strong start this season, with both the 6th grade and JV teams showcasing undeniable potential and growth. The 6th grade team boasts an impressive 5-1 record, while the JV squad stands strong at 5-2, reflecting the dedication and talent within the program.
Leading the charge for the 6th grade team are standout players Kingston Green and Darrion Miller, who have consistently delivered stellar performances. Their leadership on the court bodes well for the future of the program, as they continue to refine their skills and inspire their teammates.
The 7th grade class is proving to be a powerhouse, with 6-7 players demonstrating the capability to make significant contributions during games. This depth of talent provides a solid foundation for the JV team and highlights the bright future for Farnsley basketball.
At the helm of the program is Coach Chris Webb, a seasoned leader with a coaching career that began in 1993. Coach Webb’s journey has included successful stints at Farnsley, PRP, and Valley High School, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the game. His leadership and vision are instrumental in the program’s continued development and success.
As the season progresses, the Farnsley Middle School boys’ basketball teams are proving to be a force to be reckoned with. With a strong core of players, exceptional coaching, and a commitment to growth, the future of Farnsley basketball looks incredibly bright. Fans, get ready for an exciting season ahead!

Important Resources for Student-Athlete Parents
Below are two key resources we use to streamline communication and ensure district procedures for medical records are followed.
1. FinalForms: This web-based program allows you to upload your child’s medical information once, rather than yearly. It also lets you upload sports physical documents, keeping a copy for your records. FinalForms will send you reminders when documents are about to expire, and I will also use it to communicate with you via email.
2. Athletic Website: Our new athletic website, www.FarnsleyWildcats.com, provides updates on all sports and activities, as well as a calendar for all games and practices. You no longer need to call the school or rely on your child for schedule details. The site also sends notifications about any schedule changes.
Please see the attached instructions for registering with both FinalForms and Event Link, which houses
our website calendar.
Thank you for your attention to these tools.
