Congratulations to the choir members that competed in the Music in the Parks in Kansas City this past Saturday. They received the highest score of all the choirs and earned a "Superior" One rating.
Students purchase your Yearbooks now to secure a spot at the yearbook signing party on May 16! Seniors will sign yearbooks immediately following gradution practice. All other students who purchased a book will receive a ticket to get into the signing event in Willis Gym during seminar May 16. Scan the QR code on any Jostens poster in the building for a direct link to purchase.
Support students going to Costa Rica this summer at the Costa Rica Fundraiser Dinner. Students will be serving breakfast for dinner as well as authentic Costa Rican dishes from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 3rd at Zion Lutheran Church in Newton. We will see you there!

Seniors -- The senior party is scheduled for May 6. Parents can purchase tickets in the Infinite Campus online portal. Seniors will also be able to register and purchase tickets during lunch in the Commons on April 19, 26, and May 3. More information will be emailed to you soon!
Athletes, it's time to schedule your athletic physical. It must be dated May 1st or after and is required for all summer participation. Get it completed for this summer or ANY season of next year and bring the paperwork into the athletic office right away. (Read Tuesdays/Thursdays)

It's Scottish-American Heritage Month. Did you know there's a Kansas connection? In 1923, Scottish farmer James Cummings and draftsman J. Earl McLeod made the first designs for the bulldozer. A replica is on display at the city park in Morrowville, Kansas, where the two built the first bulldozer.
Students in AP courses who are planning to take the AP exams will need to attend a mandatory meeting in the lecture hall during seminar on Tuesday, April 25th.

It's National Humor Month, so the library is sponsoring a joke contest. Come to the library to submit your best clean joke by April 17th. We'll let the student body vote and declare the best joke! The winner gets a $10 Amazon giftcard AND gets to tell their joke over the intercom during morning announcements.
A U.S. Army recruiter will be here Tuesday April 11 during Seminar in the Office Conference Room.
Student Council is bringing back the Railerman Pageant. This year it will be held on May 3 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Contestants will compete in a question-answer session, a fashion show, a lip-sync battle and a talent segment. Check your email for more details.
A McPherson College representative will be here Thursday April 13 during Seminar in the Media Center Conference Room. This visit is particularly for those who have not yet decided where they will be attending college. There is an option for free Wind Surge tickets.

Saturday Night RaileRobotics Arrived home from the FRC Heartland Regional in Olathe, KS! Team 935 RaileRobotics Made it to the 6th seed alliance in the 8 seed double elimination bracket. The team got beat out in the Semi-finals. Along with successful match play NHS Robotics Won the Creativity in Engineering award. This Trophy award exemplifies the team that intentionally designed a creative way to overcome the design challenge. With Railer Robotics Unique arm and control system the judges of the event decided the team had the best and most creative design over 35 other teams from the Missouri/Kansas area.

If your seminar raises $250 by March 9th, your Seminar will win a pizza party! Be sure to bring your coins or donate money in your donation boxes during Seminar!
Come to the FREE band concert on Monday, February 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Hear bands from NHS and Bethel College. This concert will promote the Railers for Ronni fundraiser. See you there!
Congrats to Railer Debate and Forensics. Gabe Alberts took 1st in Novice Congress at Wichita East. Sophia Reser took 2nd place. Max Rose and Josh Torrez also attended Vaden Kumar went 4-0 in LD debate taking 1st place in Varsity LD. Vaden also placed 3rd in US extemp just missing out on his State Qualification. Get your Valentine a singing Valentine by the Railaires. $10 will get you a rose or sweet treat and a song, or $15 for a rose, sweet treat, and a song. Email amy.ives@usd373.org reserve a gift for your Valentine. These will be "delivered" on February 13th and 14th during lunch and seminar. There will also be a table at lunch to purchase the singing valentines from February 6-10th.
As part of Winter Homecoming next week, StuCo is sponsoring a badminton tournament on Wednesday, February 8, at 7:30 p.m. in Ravenscroft Gym. The cost to register is $5 per person. Congratulations to Ryan Ruggiero and Oliver Dungan for making the KMEA All-State Jazz Band! Auditions for this group are very competitive, and just five saxophone players are selected from the entire state. The All-State groups will rehearse and perform in Wichita on February 23-25. Way to go!

If you need a cool gift idea for the holiday season, the welding students are selling Railerman Santas. They come in two sizes, large for $30 and small for $25. There's a very limited quantity, so get them quick. Either scan the QR code by the auditorium or go on out to the Welding shop in Brooks Trade Center.

Join us for the parade as we wrap up homecoming week. We will travel down 1st Street from the B&B Parking Lot to Athletic Park. Line up is at 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot just east of Casey's, and the football game will follow, starting at 7 p.m. The homecoming dance is Saturday night from 8-10 p.m. It is a semi-formal event, and tickets will be $5 at the door.
