Student Fees
Every year student fees are added to your student's Infinite Campus account. You can pay these fees either in person at the office with exact change, with a check made out to High Plains School or a credit card. You can also pay these fees online in your Parent Portal account. If you need help getting into your account please contact Sarah Miller @ 970-679-9802 or sarah.miller1@tsd.org and she will help you. These fees help pay for consumables that your student uses throughout the year.
E-Book Fair
Big news! High Plains is hosting an online book fair. Visit book-efairs.follettcontent.com and use code M2GD3 to shop. The book fair is April 22-May 6th. Students get a free drawstring bag with purchase while supplies last. For every dollar our online book fair earns, our school will receive 20% back as a credit. We can use this credit to purchase books and resources that will enhance our school and classroom libraries. We aim to $1500. Can we achieve that goal? Yes, we can!
Chapter 10 Anxious Generation:
What Governments and Tech Companies Can Do Now
Several guardians and staff members are participating in the book study, Anxious Generation. Each week we’ll share insights from the book and the group’s conversations.
Quote: "Governments and tech companies have a moral responsibility to protect the mental well-being of young people by implementing policies and designs that mitigate the harmful effects of social media, screen time, and societal pressures." — The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt
Food for Thought: Haidt argues that both governments and tech companies must step up to address the mental health crisis facing today’s youth. Policies that regulate screen time, protect against harmful content, and encourage healthier online interactions are key steps that can be taken. Additionally, tech companies must redesign platforms in ways that promote well-being, rather than fueling anxiety and depression. Think about the role these larger systems play in the lives of young people. How can we advocate for stronger protections for mental health in the digital space? What steps can governments and corporations take to reduce the harms of technology and create safer, more supportive environments for youth?
