Something to Make You Smile Today
Moms like more than 1 present too!
IF you forgot about your mom or spouse this holiday season, Valentine's Day is around the corner in February! :)
I know it's after the holidays but this one makes me laugh so I had to share on our first day back!
Something to Make You Think or Grow
Words are powerful - let's do our best to create the best messages for our staff and students as we start the semester. Let's make sure everyone KNOWS and HEARS all the positive things we think about them.

Cardinal Recognitions
Thank You To:
- Ashley Quinlin for her work as our Teachers' Treasurers organizer and shopper. She helps ensure our students and staff have everything they need to be successful and it is very much appreciated!
- Coaches, Just wanted to say Thank You for your commitment to practicing good sportsmanship with our student-athletes. We were named to the First Team All Sportsmanship list by the IHSAA through the Fall Sports season for having at least 100 Sportsmanship points (article linked below). Currently, we are sitting at 105 - thanks to the exemplary behavior shown by our Cross Country, Girls Volleyball, and Girls Soccer programs who helped us earn extra points. Keep up the good work with our student-athletes and keep being a positive example in our school and our community!
- Lisa Stanley and Jennifer Karushis for updating the EL accommodations for our specidal education students.
- The teachers who applied for Helping Hands Grants through PTEF to support students and their learning in your classroom.
- Everyone who helped cover classes in the last weeks of the semester when numerous staff members were sick.

ILT - Mentor Teachers
The mentor teachers continue to work alongside instructional coaches and administrators to discover the most effective ways for teachers to easily get to know their students as learners. During the most recent ILT, the group was exploring Panorama.
A"Boone"inable Saviors
Our wonderful principal Mrs. Boone is safe. Thank you to all the staff who tried to capture these A"Boone"inalbe's. They have been packaged and Amazon will ship them back for us to the North Pole. Our fearless capturers were:
Alex Mitchell
Brad Mitchell
Patrick Clark
Angela Sledge
Tiffany Grant
Mr. Adler & Mrs. Bass - Spell Bowl
Our amazing Spell Bowl team and coaches were recognized at the school board meeting for finishing in the top 10 in state this year!
Mrs. Tanya Johnson & Ms. Sara Kohne
Ms. Kohne worked with Mrs. Johnson's students and their reimagining Hispanic art project. Students in Spanish 2 researched a notable Hispanic artist to inform themselves about the artist so they could take on the persona of the artist in class for an interview in Spanish. They also recreated a piece of the artwork from the artist where they were challenged to add their own personal touch while also keeping some of the integrity of the original. Most of the students' artwork is displayed in the library right now. Their work will be displayed through mid January. You all should come see some of their work. It is beautiful.
PTSG & Social Committee - Cookies, Coffee & Hot Chocolate
Thank you so the PTSG and Social Committee for providing cookies, coffee and hot chocolate for our staff during finals week. It was a great snack and a wonderful time to connect with one another.
Mrs. Egan & Mrs. Roll - Service Dog Visit
One of the teachers from Homecroft brought her ICAN Service dog to visit the CIP classroom the last day before break. The students enjoyed playing hide and seek with the dog's favorite toy. It was great to see the students open up, laugh and smile.
Mr. Maupin & Mr. Wright - Band & Orchestra
Our orchestra and band students performed in the main hallway and auditorium lobby during the last week of the semester. It brought holiday cheer, showcased our amazing students' talents, and allowed our student body to see the great work of our performing arts department.
Mr. Harrell & Mr. Horvath
I just want to thank Mr. Henriott for gifting these shirts to Jake and Joe so that we can all enjoy a Holly Dolly Christmas!
Mrs. Grehn - Key Club Celebration
Mrs. Grehn along with the help of Mr. Weimer, organized a Key Club celebration during the last iPass of the semester. The club members organized different stations and activities for all of the club members to rotate through and enjoy.
Ms. Sui Tial - Heritage Chin Class Field Trip
Ms. Tial and Ms. Mawi took the Heritage Chin classes from SHS and PMHS on a field trip to the Chin Center. Students were able to learn about their heritage and view artifacts.
