ROCK'in Weekly Update
Message from Split Rock Elementary School Principal
This week may have been short, but our students and staff made the most of every moment! It’s inspiring to see how hard everyone is working while finding ways to enjoy learning and growing together.
As the colder weather approaches, please ensure our Wildcats are dressed appropriately for the season. We will continue to head outside for recess and physical education classes whenever possible, so warm coats, hats, and gloves will help keep everyone comfortable and prepared.
Next week, we plan to complete our emergency drills as we transition into the winter months. Our students are well-prepared, and our staff will ensure the procedures are practiced in a calm and supportive environment.
A friendly reminder: Parent-Teacher Conferences are just around the corner! These conferences are a valuable opportunity to strengthen the home-school connection and discuss ways to support your child’s growth. If you haven’t scheduled a conference yet, please reach out to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.
I hope all our Split Rock families enjoy a restful and wonderful weekend. We look forward to welcoming our Wildcats back on Monday for another great week of learning!
BE AWESOME!
Mr. Kimpland

Nurse's News
Cooler and damper weather is upon us! Please make sure to send your child to school in appropriate attire: jackets, hats, gloves, boots and sneakers to change into.
Accidents and spills happen. I have very limited change of clothing left here at the nurse’s office.
Please send a change of clothing for your child to keep in their locker or class.
There has been an influx of children affected with upper respiratory infections caused by a bacterial infection requiring antibiotics. It is certainly tough to distinguish viral vs. bacterial without testing, so if your child does develop a fever and upper or lower respiratory symptoms (cough, shortness of breath, congestion), consult with your family Doctor if further treatment is needed. Additional info can be found by clicking here.
As a reminder, students should not be in school if they have:
- Fever at or above 100 degrees
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
In general, your child should be without fever, vomiting, or diarrhea for 24 hours with no use of medication, before they return to school.
Attendance/Absence: ParentSquare will send a notification mid morning if your child is absent that you will be able to reply with a reason, you must wait for that notification to come through. If you do wish to let us know prior, feel free to send me a message on ParentSquare, via email at bhind@westgenesee.org, or my office at 315-487-4658. Please click here for additional info regarding reporting attendance.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me anytime with any concerns.

Students should always have appropriate clothing for the weather each day: Coat, boots, snow pants, hat, and gloves.
