Dear HLA Families,


As we move into April, I am delighted to share with you some exciting news about our school.


First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to all the families who joined us for the family breakfast last month. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and strengthen our community bonds. Your participation and support mean a lot to us, and we look forward to hosting more such events in the future.


I also want to take a moment to thank all the families who have re-enrolled for the next academic year and to warmly welcome all our new families. Our enrollment term is going well, and we are thrilled to have such a committed and engaged student body.


As we have entered the holy month of Ramadan, I would like to wish all our families a blessed and peaceful time of reflection and devotion. May this month bring us and our loved ones health, happiness, and spiritual fulfillment. In celebration of Ramadan, we will be hosting a family iftar on April 4th. Please join us for an evening of Ramadan.


Furthermore, we will be organizing a Seerah Fair on the same day, April 4th. This event will allow our students to learn about the life of our Prophet Hz. Muhammad (SAV) and deepen their understanding of Islamic history and culture. We invite all our families to attend this exciting and educational event.


Thank you for your continued support and commitment to Horizon Leadership Academy. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and prepare our students to become the leaders of tomorrow.

HLA FAMILY BREAKFAST

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents who joined us for the HLA Family Breakfast! It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, share delicious food, and catch up with each other in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. We appreciate your participation and support in making this event a success. We truly value our HLA community and the sense of togetherness that we share. We look forward to hosting more events like this in the future and continuing to build connections with our families. Thank you once again for being a part of the HLA family!

FIELD TRIP

Our recent field trip to the George Ranch Historical Park was a success. Our students explored historic homes and buildings, participated in some hands-on activities, and learned about the rich history of Texas. The trip provided an excellent example of experiential learning and gave our students a firsthand experience that deepened their understanding of the past. We are grateful for the opportunity to provide our students with such a valuable experience and extend our thanks to the staff at the park for their excellent hospitality.

MAP TESTING

We are pleased to inform you that our HLA students completed the MAP test in the last week of March, and we have received encouraging results. Although the complete results are not yet available, we wanted to share our excitement with you. Our dedicated teachers have worked diligently to foster an enriching learning environment. We look forward to sharing the complete results with you as soon as they become available.

RAMADAN!!!

Our school celebrated the arrival of Ramadan with a wonderful drama and various other activities that highlighted the importance of this sacred time of year. In addition to the drama, our students engaged in recitations of the Quran. The celebration of Ramadan provided a meaningful opportunity for our students to deepen their understanding of their faith and to connect with their community.

WATER WELL

We are thrilled to announce that the bake sales organized by the supportive parents of Horizon Leadership Academy have been a resounding success! Thanks to the generosity and kindness of our community, we have been able to raise enough funds to build a water well in Africa. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of our parents, who worked hard to make these bake sales a reality. This water well will significantly impact the lives of the people in Africa, providing them with access to clean water and improving their overall health and well-being. We are proud to be a part of such a compassionate and giving community, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive difference in the world. Thank you to everyone who supported this cause and helped us reach this milestone!

We are pleased to announce that the Horizon Leaders Academy & Houston YDC Kids Academy Water Well you funded, located in Kalanki, Chad, has completed construction and is now operational! Embrace Relief’s local partners have shared photos of the construction work that was done to make clean water a reality for this community. We invite you to take a look at their hard work, and to know that your support made it happen.



Your donation will ensure that at least 1,000 people who live near this well will have a safe, nearby source of clean water for drinking, cleaning, cooking, and growing. And thanks to Embrace Relief’s guaranteed warranty, that clean water will continue to flow and serve people for a minimum of five years.

SEERAH FAIR

We are excited to announce our upcoming Seerah Fair, which will take place at the beginning of April 4, 2023, at our school. This event is an excellent opportunity for our students to learn more about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and to explore the significance of his teachings in our daily lives. We invite all parents to join us in celebrating this special occasion and to witness the hard work and creativity of our students as they showcase their projects and presentations. This is an event you won't want to miss, and we hope to see you there!

HLA FAMILY IFTAR

Our school is hosting an iftar dinner with parents on April 4th to celebrate Ramadan. This event will provide an opportunity for our school community to come together, share traditional foods and drinks, and learn more about the significance of this time of year. We hope that it will be a memorable and meaningful experience for all who attend.

TSI

Attention HLA Middle School students and families! Our 8th grade students will be taking the TSI test in April. The TSI Math test is scheduled for April 8th and the TSI ELA test is scheduled for April 15th. We encourage all 8th grade students to prepare and do their best on these important exams. Good luck to all!

HLA ALUMNI IFTAR

We would like to extend a warm invitation to HLA Alumni to join us for our upcoming Iftar dinner on April 16, 2023. It will be a great opportunity for us to reunite and share our experiences since our time at HLA. We will break our fast together and enjoy a delicious meal while catching up with old friends and making new ones.

NEW ENROLLMENT

The Horizon Leadership Academy is excited to announce the enrollment period for new students. In March, new students' families are encouraged to complete the enrollment process for the upcoming academic year. The enrollment process can be completed online. We are looking forward to welcoming our new students and are committed to providing them with the best education possible.
