6-Week Shine
On Thursday, September 29, the De Zavala Diamonds celebrated the 6-week mark with awards for individual students, group awards from their specials teachers, brain games and best of all, the battle for the spirit stick! Congratulations to all Diamonds and the SMCISD staff there for bringing the energy. We especially loved the walk up songs and dance moves each class entered into the cafeteria with.
SMHS Junior Rattler Cheer Camp 2022
Does your junior Rattler have spirit? Sign them up for the 2022 Cheer Camp happening on Saturday, October 22 from 8:00am-12:00pm (Registration opens at 7:45am) at the SMHS Student Activity Center gymnasium. Price per child is $40 (Pre-pay); $50 (Day Of); $10 off each additional sibling.
Heroic Fine Arts Night
Hernandez Elementary families enjoyed a night of fine arts on Thursday, September 29. Students and guardians were treated to delicious snacks, musical performances, and multiple fun-filled activities. Thank you to SMHS student photographer and intern, Caitlin Tims for the photos.
MVP Maintenance Team
For the past few years, SMCISD Crossroad students have been teaming up with the district maintenance department as part of their Do It Yourself skill lesson. Students are able to work alongside district maintenance staff members to work on their projects each year and the Crossroads staff is truly appreciative of the partnership.
SMEF Skeet Shoot
The San Marcos Education Foundation held the 8th annual Aim High for Education Skeet Shoot on Friday, September 30. All funds raised by the event will go back to San Marcos CISD students, teachers, and staff. SMEF gives back more than $60,000 annually to SMCISD.
A Royal Celebration of Knights
The Rodriguez Knights held their first Knight Day of the 2022-2023 academic year on Thursday, September 29. The staff put on a royal skit showcasing the importance of being safe, respectful and responsible. Students and their peers were awarded their 6-week honors and one class from each grade level, who encompassed the most spirit, secured the spirit stick!
Lady Rattler Volleyball
The Rattlers went 1-1 this week falling short to Steele HS on Tuesday and beating Judson in 3 on Friday to improve their district record to 2-1. Catch them back in the Snake Pit on Tuesday, October 4 at 6:30 PM, as they face the New Braunfels Unicorns. Digital tickets are available for purchase via the button below.
SMCISD Shoutout – Soaring in 6A
The San Marcos High School Band won 1st place at the Seguin Marching Festival on Saturday, October 1. Best in class 6A in the preliminaries, and 1st place in the finals. Way to go Rattlers!
