It has been a great week at Oak Grove! This week we focused on the Graduate Profile skill of being personally and socially responsible. Our learning targets focused on how:

- I can understand how my choices affect me and others, and I'll make sure what I do is good for everyone.

- I can exercise balance as it relates to screen time and maximize my learning.

Thank you everyone for a successful Picture Day. You should receive proofs within 3-4 weeks. If you missed picture day, our make-up pictures will be taken on October 30th.

Wednesday is our first Collaborative Planning Day. We will dismiss this day at 11:20. Please submit any changes of transportation to your child's teacher or call the front office at 803-821-0100 by 10 AM.

In order for all staff (support and certified) to engage in professional learning on collaborative planning days, the front offices at schools will close earlier than usual.

Please note that elementary schools will close their front offices at 12:45 PM.

Being in school allows students to the best possible chance to grow, learn and excel — every minute counts towards reading on grade-level.

Plus, students can connect with friends and adults, collaborate and problem-solve, think critically, be creative, and engage in hands-on learning. Showing up matters! Attendance matters — all day, every day — it all adds up!

SPED (3K and CC2) are looking for any clothing and shoes your children might have outgrown. We have lots of “accidents” and our supply is running low! We can use boys and girls size 3T up to 8-10. Shoes size 12 and up. Your help and donations are greatly appreciated.

Car line drop off begins at 7:00. For the safety of your children, please do not drop them off in the parking lot areas to cross traffic. Safety is top priority and why all students are to be dropped off at the breezeway where staff and safety patrol are available to assist. A secondary drop off location is the bus loop starting at 7:10.

OGES has a Family Resource Center that is funded through our school's Title I parent and family engagement budget. The center serves to meet the individual needs of ALL families by connecting them with school and community resources, engaging with them in the learning process, and partnering together to ensure the success of ALL students. Starting October 4, the cafeteria will begin Special Sales on Fridays selling a variety of chips and ice cream. If there is money on your child's account, they can purchase snacks. If there is no money on their account, they must pay with cash. Parents can set limits on their students' accounts when it comes to purchasing snacks. Families are allowed to come to visit their child for lunch. Parents will sign in with the front office with your drivers license, sit at reserved tables and enjoy lunch with their child. Friends are to remain with the class. Once lunch is finished, students will leave with their class and parents will sign out with the front office.

If your child's school fees have yet to be paid, we kindly ask that those be taken care of at this time. To pay school fees, follow the directions below to log into PowerSchool’s Parent Portal to view and pay school fees.

1. ​​​ ​​Log in to Parent Portal You must access Parent Portal on an Internet browser to pay fees. You can not pay fees using the Parent Portal app.
2. Under the Navigation menu on the left-hand side of the screen click on the School Fees and Forms icon, which should be near the bottom of your screen.

If you applied for free/reduced lunch and received an approval email or letter, please bring it by the school or email it to Ms. Shealy at tlshealy@lexington1.net to waive school fees. If approval letter is not received, school fees are the responsibility of the parent/guardian to be paid online through the parent portal website.

When dismissing a student or visiting for lunch starting on August 28, a valid drivers license / photo ID is required and will be scanned in a national database. Information is not stored in the system and will be required every time.

Early Dismissals of a student will need to be before 2:00 pm and in person. We can not take any dismissal requests over the phone. A driver's license will be needed as well as be on the approved contact list in order to dismiss a student.

Lexington One has announced its policy for free and reduced-price meals for children served in schools under the National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program. A new application must be submitted each school year. Click here to apply.

Make sure to send all approval letters from Food Services to tlshealy@lexington1.net to waive your child's school fees accordingly. School fees will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian unless letter is turned in for fee adjustment.
