December 4, 2020
Hello FLEX families!
It’s getting colder outside and the holiday season is fast approaching. I hope this finds you well.
Find important announcements, reminders, and some FUN below!
Family Engagement Organization (our version of a PTO)
Our Family Engagement Organization (FEO) Parent organization met on Tuesday night 12/1 and we missed having many of you join us. We wanted to let you know that during that meeting we met with the FLEX Online School counselors, Shani Clarke and Eddy Fernandez, and they shared with us that we have many families in FLEX that can use some assistance during the holidays. We are working on a way to collect and distribute gift cards to these families.
We would like to invite any and all parents and learning coaches to please join us this coming Tuesday 12/8 at 7pm on Zoom to discuss electing the rest of our officers. We need your help as our Family Engagement Organization is starting our new job of supporting our school and families that make up FLEX Online! You can access the Zoom meeting at the link below:
Time: Dec 8, 2020 07:00 PM Pacific Time (US and Canada)

Meet Our Teachers!
Cold Weather Doesn’t Mean You Need to Stay Inside!
With the change in weather it can be tempting to stay indoors. We know that our kids need to move every day and the extensive associated benefits of physical exercise. Here are some tips to help you build healthy (and fun!) habits into the remote school day:
- Start your day by taking a walk or a bike ride. Do you still travel to a different location for school? Then make that trip an active one! Too far to walk? Try parking halfway and walking the rest. Commit to walking or biking 2 days a week and start building those healthy habits.
- Take movement breaks in between classes or at lunch time. A brisk walk around the block will get your heart pumping and re-energize you for the rest of your day.
- Need to pick up your library holds or free lunch? Bike over to your pickup location and reap the benefits of an active trip while checking off your to-do list.
