Principal's Newsletter- April 18, 2024
April 18th, 2024
Dear Families,
As we approach the end of another school year, it's important to remind ourselves and our children about the importance of finishing strong. These final weeks are not just about wrapping up academic work; they're about celebrating accomplishments, fostering a sense of closure, and preparing for a well-deserved break.
Encourage your child to stay focused and motivated until the very end. Remind them of their goals for the year and encourage them to take pride in their achievements, no matter how big or small. Emphasize the importance of staying organized, managing time effectively, and seeking help when needed.
Ensuring that your child gets plenty of sleep is crucial during this busy time. A well-rested mind is more alert, focused, and better able to retain information. Establishing a consistent bedtime routine and limiting screen time before bed can help improve the quality of sleep.
The end of the school year is not just about academics; it's also about creating lasting memories. Your child’s participation in the end-of-year school activities such as field days, field trips, and class parties provide opportunities for fun, bonding, and reflection on the school year's highlights.
Take time as a family to reflect on the past school year. Celebrate your child's accomplishments, both academic and personal. Acknowledge the challenges they've overcome and the growth they've experienced. This reflection can help build confidence and motivation for the year ahead.
Let's celebrate our successes, learn from our experiences, and look forward to new beginnings. Encourage your child to finish strong, rest, and recharge, and make the most of the remaining weeks of school. Together, let's embrace the end of the school year with positivity, gratitude, and excitement for the future.
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers

A Message From Our Librarian
Dear Friends of St. Patrick School,
As you are doing your spring cleaning, please keep our library in mind for book donations. We have lost or ruined books that belong to a series, leaving the series incomplete. Below are some of the books we are missing. We appreciate donations of gently used books, preferably hard cover, but strong paperbacks are also great. A link to titles we are in need of can be found here.
Thank you,
Lora Sink
Uniform Clothing Available
Just a reminder to parents that as the weather begins to warm up, you may see that your child has outgrown their shorts or polos. Come check out "Uniform Exchange Closet" where we have nearly all sizes for students from Kindergarten through 8th grade. If you find yourself in need of shorts or skirts to finish out the school year, give the school office a call to set up a time to come in and see what we have on hand.
Thank You!
Thanks to our students who participated in our volunteer night at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. Our volunteers labeled and packed over 8,000 cans of diced potatoes.
Thank you to all the students, families, teachers and staff that helped with our Leader in Me Art and Leadership Showcase last week. The support of our teachers and families is what continues to keep our school an amazing place to work and send our children.
