"Knowledge is a garden. If it isn't cultivated, you can't harvest it."
Dear Lincoln Families,
I want to shout a THANK YOU to all the families who came out to our Fall Open House last week. In order for our children to experience a successful year in school, it is important that we all work together!
I wanted to share some of our celebrations surrounding positive growth as a school last year:
Attendance
- Chronic Absenteeism decreased by 15.5% from the year before
- 54% of students K-5 made 1+ years growth (3% increase from 2022-23)
- 45% of students K-5 made catch-up growth (19% increase from 2022-23)
Science (MAP)
- 64% of 5th grade students tested At/Above Grade Level (52% increase Fall-Spring)
- 59% of students made 1+ years growth (17% increase from 2022-23)
Math (Fastbridge/MAP)
- 67% of students K-5 made 1+ years growth (5% increase from 2022-23)
- 44% of students K-5 made catch-up growth (3% increase from 2022-23)
Field Trips
- ALL classes grades K-5 experienced at least one field trip experience
It is with support from families and dedication of our teachers that we were able to accomplish these successes with our students. I look forward to watching each of your children grow exponentially this year. If you ever have questions about how to best support your child, do not hesititate to reach out to me or your child's classroom teachers.
Respectfully,
Principal D. Roberts
Annual Title I Parent Meeting
During Open House, many families were able to attend our annual Title I Parent meeting. It serves as an opportunity for me to share information about programming and our school and district goals. If you were unable to attend, you can review the information shared at the meeting below.
We Want YOUR Feedback!
The following survey is confidential and will be used to assist us with future planning for parental involvement activities and events at school. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
We Need YOUR Help!
ALL Kalamazoo Public Schools students can receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at no charge again this year. We are so grateful for this service for our students but we still need your help!
Even though breakfast and lunch are free for all students we still need ALL households to fill out and sign the Education Benefits Form. Currently about 65% of Lincoln families have returned their form either by mail, in-person at school, or electronically. If you have not yet return the paper form to school, we need you to do so. If you prefer, you can fill out the form quickly online. That link is here: https://kalamazoo.familyportal.cloud/ Click APPLY FOR BENEFITS to begin.
Picture Day Is Coming OCTOBER 1st!
Mark your Calendars
Order forms were sent home last week in backpacks! We will have extra in the main office if you need another one. ALL students will have their photos taken on Picture Day. A paid order is not necessary.
