2024-2025 Parking Permit Application Procedures
Students requesting permission to park on campus are able to submit an application at anytime. Parking permits are offered on a first come, first served basis. However, all juniors that apply will be placed on a waiting list until September 15. Juniors will only be issued permits if we have spaces available after the needs of seniors that qualify for permits have been issued one. This is due to the physical limitations of not having enough parking spaces available for all of our student drivers.
In order to apply for a parking permit, students must have a valid driver's license (not a learner's permit) and must be a junior or a senior. Additional information can be found on the parking permit application form.
Helpful Information for Student Drivers Parking on Campus
- Students receiving an acceptance notification must attend the mandatory Young Driver’s Safety Initiative training. Students will then receive their parking lot designation and permit. Students can make their payment via MySchoolBucks once they have received an acceptance email.
- Students will be assigned to either parking Lot A (located in front of Leonardtown High School) or Lot B (located in front of the Tech Center). Students who are scheduled to attend classes periods 2-5 may be assigned to park in the bus loop.
- Students parking in unassigned areas or not properly displaying their permit will incur a $25.00 fine for each violation and will be in danger of losing their parking permit.
- No student may park on LHS school grounds after Wednesday, August 21, 2024, without a valid LHS parking permit.

- Please note that driving to school is a privilege, not a right. Buses are available for all students within the SMCPS attendance zones. There are limited parking spaces available for student use at LHS, therefore not all requests for parking will be able to be accommodated.
Parking Meetings for Students Approved for Parking Permits
Students who have received an email from Ms. Mushrush/Ms. Morris stating that they have been approved for a parking permit must attend one of the parking meetings listed below. If you have been approved for a parking permit, please pay for your parking permit on MySchoolBucks prior to attending the meeting.
Parking meetings will be held in the LHS auditorium or cafeteria on the following dates/times:
- Tuesday, 8/13/24 @11:00 AM - auditorium
- Wednesday, 8/14/24 @ 9:00 AM - cafeteria
- Wednesday, 8/14/24 @ 1:00 PM - auditorium - BUS LOOP PARKING ONLY
- Thursday, 8/15/24 @ 2:00 PM - auditorium
