From Mrs. Hughes
As we head into the Thanksgiving break, I want to wish each of you a restful and joyful time with family and friends. When we return, we'll jump right back into the exciting weeks leading up to Winter Break!
When we return from break, we have two exciting Fridays to spark curiosity and get our kids excited about STEAM before we head into Winter Break. Friday December 6th will be a STEAM Friday and our 1st Annual SV STEAM Career Day on December 13th!!
We are still looking for 7 amazing presenters to share their STEAM careers with our students. Our goal is to have at least one presenter for every grade level! If you or someone you know is interested and available on December 13th from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, please reach out to me as soon as possible using the STEAM Career Day Sign-Up button below.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving break, and I look forward to seeing everyone back, ready to finish the semester strong!
Tell Me Something Good
We know our teachers and staff are the BEST and we love to appreciate what they are doing! Share with us an awesome experience or just a kind note to pass along! These messages from our community mean so much to us!

Please Donate Nonperishable Items
to the classroom from Nov.12th-Dec.6th
8th graders will be at parent drop off to pick up all the food
so your little ones won't have to carry items that are too heavy.
SV collected 1,528 pounds of food last year which made 1,273 meals
for families in need. We are hoping to collect over 2,000 pounds this
year. Thank you so much for your support!

Cross Country:
The Vipers battled hard today at the cross country meet. The girls finished 1st place overall as a team and had some outstanding finishes. The top 5 Sierra Verde scores were Grace Wallace, Emma Chen, Alyse Holm, Eden Brown, and Krosby Kerger. The boys also fought extremely hard and finished 2nd place overall as a team. They took 1st, 2nd, and 4th place individually which is very difficult to do against over 50 runners! Brody Sauer , Yahia Elmsasry, Benson Brown, Yasin Doost and Austin Tacheene sprinted to the end to give SV our top 5 team scores. What a great meet today full of athletic talent and determination by all the runners. Hope you can catch us for our last regular season meet on December 4th at Diamond Canyon! Let's go SV!!!
Volleyball:
The Boys and Girls Volleyball team is working hard! We are refining our skills, learning rotations, and getting ready for our first game AT West Wing on December 5th. We have a lot of talent on the team and we are looking forward to getting our season started!

Still looking for a full time Cheer Coach! If you are interested please email jolynn.copenhaver@dvusd.org
