MCA tests are designed to measure student learning towards the Minnesota Academic Standards. The results are one important piece of information that the district, schools and teachers use to monitor and improve instruction. By having all students take these tests, we get better information about how all students are doing. The test results also provide families with a snapshot of their student’s learning. Results will be available in the fall in Synergy ParentVue. Student results might also be used for course placement at a Minnesota State college or university after graduation or to qualify for Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) or College in the Schools program.

Visit Saint Paul College
Saint Paul College is hosting an open house on April 16 from 5:00-7:00 pm. You’ll get to tour the campus, meet with faculty, and see how their community can help you continue your education after RAHS.
Visiting colleges is a great way to determine whether that school is a good fit for you, and to get more information about that college and what it offers. It’s not too early or too late for you to visit colleges, whether you’re in 9th or 12th grade!

Students Leaving School During the School Day
Please remember that if your child is not feeling well during the school day, they must go through the Health Office. The Health Office needs to contact you for permission and write your child a pass to leave. If your child needs to leave for a planned appointment, the attendance office will give them a pass. Leaving the building without a pass from the health office or the attendance office will result in an unexcused absence.
Medications:
If there are medications that need to be given at school, please email the nurse for more information, or stop into the Health Office. The Health Office staff needs to confirm health conditions, paperwork, medications, and expiration dates.
Updated COVID-19 Guidelines
The CDC recently updated their respiratory virus guidelines, including COVID-19 isolation recommendations. With these new guidelines, individuals may be able to return to school sooner after testing positive for COVID.
Roseville Area Schools will be following these simplified recommendations.
If you have a respiratory virus (such as COVID-19, Influenza, or RSV):
- Stay home and away from others (including people you live with who are not sick) if you have symptoms that aren't better explained by another cause. These symptoms can include fever, chills, fatigue, cough, runny nose, and headache.
- You can go back to your normal activities when, for at least 24 hours, both are true:
- Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
- You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication).
- When you go back to your normal activities, we recommend taking added precautions over the next 5 days, such as: practicing enhanced hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, and/or testing when you will be around other people indoors.
- If you develop a fever or you start to feel worse after you have gone back to normal activities, stay home and away from others again until, for at least 24 hours, both are true: your symptoms are improving overall, and you have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medication). Then take added precaution for the next 5 days.
