Staff Appreciation Week!
All through the week, the PTO provided yummy treats in the staff room and posted encouraging signs all over the building for Staff Appreciation Week. On Friday, May 10th, the Lothrop PTO hosted the all school morning meeting along side the student council. The PTO presented a video in honor of the staff thanking them for all that they do. Afterwards, they had a walk of fame, where staff walked down the center of the gym high-fiving students down both aisles. Watch both videos below!
Otter Valley Unified Union Budget Input Survey
Dear Otter Valley Unified Union Community,
We hope that this letter finds you well. As members of our community, your input and feedback are essential to our success as a school district.
As you may be aware, the 2024-2025 (FY25) Otter Valley Unified Union School District budget proposals have unfortunately failed to gain approval in the past two attempts. We believe the proposed budgets were fiscally responsible, met the needs of the district, and maintained the high quality of PreK-12 education that has been traditionally expected by the community. While this is undoubtedly a setback, we remain committed to ensuring the best possible education for all of our PreK-12 students and will continue to work until we get a voter-approved budget.
We are reaching out to request your thoughts and insights regarding the FY25 budget. Your input plays a vital role in ensuring the budget aligns with the values and expectations of you, our community members. We want to understand what aspects of the budget resonate with you, and where you believe improvements can be made. Your feedback will be carefully reviewed and considered as we work towards crafting a revised budget proposal that reflects the priorities of our community.
Please take a moment to share your thoughts with us by completing the following four-question, anonymous survey. Click here to access the survey. You can also Reach Out! to provide additional feedback (click here to Reach Out!).
Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement with our district's endeavors. Together we can create a budget that serves the best interests of our students and community as a whole.
Sincerely,
Laurie Bertrand, OVUU Board Chair
Kristin Hubert, RNESU Superintendent
Dress Code for Learners
Learners are expected to dress for school in a manner that contributes to an environment that is conducive to learner learning and success. As the weather warms up be mindful of the dress code when sending students to school. The Student Handbooks states, "Dress should not expose the chest, abdomen, navel, buttocks, or underwear. Shoes must be worn at all times. Hats or hoods are ONLY allowed in classrooms with teacher permission." Thank you!
