We had an AMAZING first week of school!

We were so excited to see so many of our families at Back to School Night! The partnership between home and school is the best foundation for your student's success. Thank you for helping your Pilot Soar to Success!

Our Pauba Valley PTA has planned a fun filled year! They need our support though to make it happen! Please be sure to join PTA today (for just $10!). They will also have a variety of events that they will need volunteers for this year. Please be sure to keep looking for email updates coming in these Friday Flight Plans.

We are expecting hot days next week. Students should bring a full bottle of cold water (and even a hat for recess/lunch) to school. We have filling stations if they need a refill. We do not have water bottles on site for students.

We encourage all families to read through our Flight Plans for up-to-date information, reminders, and other school events.

Wednesday, 8/21: Modified school day. All grades follow normal schedule 8:50 am-12:55 pm.

Friday, 8/23: Friday Flag Salute on the blacktop. All visitors must sign in at the front office and wear a visitors sticker at all times.

This week students came to assemblies to review our Pauba Valley Universal Expectations. Students were reminded of our expected behaviors while at school and were shown our Universal Expectations posters. These posters are in various areas around campus as reminders for students. We have included a few of the posters below.

By joining PTA, you are supporting our students. Each membership supports the wonderful events here at Pauba Valley. PTA helps pay for field trips, assemblies, grade level funds, books in the classroom, and more! Joining as a member is not a time commitment, it is just being a voice for our students. If you would like to volunteer at events, we will be reaching out soon with information!

TK/Kindergarten students enter at the gate at the front of the school. 1st-5th grade students enter the school through either 1st - 5th gates. See image above for details.

ALL students in California schools are offered free breakfast, which is served before school and during recess, and free lunch every day. Both are meals are completely optional, and families continue to be welcome sending their children with a recess snack and lunch provided from home. Students who are eating breakfast will be able to enter school around 8:30.

In order to obtain breakfast or lunch each day, students must NOT have brought a snack/lunch from home. They also must raise their hand at the beginning of class to be included in the snack/lunch count.

All students must enter a unique pin code that tracks food service usage, and students are strongly encouraged to memorize their pin code to ensure the lines move quickly when visiting the cafeteria.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR TK/KINDER FAMILIES: Families may want to consider sending a snack and lunch packed from home at the beginning of the year for TK and Kindergarten students so they aren't overwhelmed with the process of visiting the cafeteria.
