Happy Sunday, Pride!

I’d like to take a moment to wish all the mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and everyone who serves in a motherly role a very Happy Mother's Day. Your nurturing and guidance shape our lives in countless, profound ways, leaving an indelible mark of love and strength on us all.

I have one important update to share with you. Last week, we opened nominations for those wishing to serve a two-year term on the Riverwalk Academy Board. The Board consists of nine members, five elected and four appointed. Membership elections occur annually. In even years, like this one, three elected and two appointed seats are available.

Following the call for nominations, four individuals have put forth their names for consideration:

Ms. Rebekah Contri, parent of a Riverwalk Academy student
Mr. Michael Riddle, parent of a Riverwalk Academy student
Mr. Jeff Whittle, community member
Mr. Kevin Willis, parent of a Riverwalk Academy student

On May 14th, an email from the Public Charter School Alliance of SC (PCSASC)—which is managing our board elections independently—will be sent to all parents and staff. This email will serve as your ballot. Voting opens at 8:00 AM on May 14th and closes at 4:00 PM on May 16th.

The election results will be announced by the end of the day on May 17th.

Please take a few minutes to learn about the candidates and exercise your vote later this week.
