An evening of family fun and engagement including music, crafts, games, family support services and programs, and a raffle (cash only) with prizes donated by local businesses.

All funds from the raffle support scholarships for the Woodland School District 50 Wildcat Summer Adventures (WSA) program for Summer 2025.

Looking for Parent Mentors to join us!

Our Parent Mentors help in the classrooms 2 hours a day 4 days a week. Twice a week they have workshops for 1.5 hours for community building. We learn how we can be active community members and how we can help our district!

This was her first day with the program during our 2023-2024 school year.

Sangeetha returned!

She came back for her second year in the program. This year she not only said yes to us, but she also provided a testimony to our Legislators.

Sangeetha is partnered with Mrs. Tomlinson this year. The class and Mrs. Tomlinson are enjoying their time together. Sangeetha is completing her 100 hours within the next couple of weeks!

Beyond the Classroom

Our Parent Mentors meet every Friday to engage Beyond the Classroom. This is where our Parent Mentors learn important skills that they can take into their homes and our classrooms.

Microgreens

Master Gardner Mary taught us about Microgreens and their benefits. She taught us how to grow and take proper care of them. We were able to taste and took some home!

We learned about native plants and were able to plant and take home our native plants.

Giving back to the community

We had our first service day. We went to Keeping Families Covered.

Parent Mentor Convention

We took a field trip to Chicago for the Parent Engagement Institute Convention and met other organizations like us!

About the Parent Mentor Program

Parent Mentors, help fill persistent equity gaps by volunteering in classrooms for 2 hours/day for at least 100 hours. The Parent Mentors are supported by weekly training on classroom instructional practices and leadership training. As a result, they support each other to pursue their goals and unite the school community for long-term change.
