Welcome to the BHS Express
A newsletter keeping you informed about Batavia High School
Hello Bulldog Families.
We started our second quarter this week, and BHS teachers are busy working with their students to make sure they are moving through the curriculum for their courses. Before we know it, we will be wrapping up the first semester before our holiday break in December.
Today, our students in grades 10-12 had the opportunity to learn about Batavia High School’s partnership with the Hamilton County ESC in launching the LinkedUp Connect portal. This partnership will allow our students to connect with business partners to engage in internships, job shadowing opportunities and other experiential learning experiences. We know it’s critical for high school students to make connections between school and work so that they can begin to make important decisions as they explore various career options. Please read through the BHS LinkedUp Connect Parent Letter linked below and sign the consent form linked into your student’s Final Forms account. Once you give consent, your student will be entered into the portal to begin making these valuable connections.
We are also excited to highlight the launch of “The Write Place”, Batavia High School’s new student-led writing center. Under the leadership of Mrs. Newman, students will serve as peer editors and help all BHS students with any of their writing needs. We believe this extra support will not only help our students with their writing assignments within their classes, but will also benefit many of our students as they are working on college admissions essays and scholarship essays. Check out some of the photos in this newsletter to catch a glimpse of the launch on Tuesday of this week.
We hope you and your students enjoy this weekend. We can’t wait to see them back on Monday.
In service to our Bulldogs.
