ThunderRidge Weekly Update
Patterson's Perspective
Grizzly Families,
As we wrap up the 2023-2024 school year, I would like to thank our students, staff, and parents for a great school year.
Class of 2025, you are officially seniors! The senior page on our website will be updated over the summer. This is a great resource where you will find information, important dates and events throughout the year. Graduation will be at the University of Denver in May, however, we will not have a confirmed date from DU until later in the Fall. We will share that information as soon as it's available.
We look forward to welcoming the Class of 2028 to ThunderRidge on August 7th. We will also have student check-in for the other grades on that date, with the first official day of school on August 8th. More information will be sent out in July.
Thank you for all of your support throughout the year. I hope you all have a great summer.
Sean Patterson

Important Information on Express Check-In and the EngagED Parent Portal
As we wrap up another year and look toward the 2024-2025 school year, we wanted to send some quick reminders about Express Check-In.
Express Check-In helps us to ensure that we have complete and accurate information for your student and allows you to sign required forms. Express Check-In will open mid-July and will be accessible through the EngagED Parent Portal. More details will be provided as we near the Express Check-In window.
In the meantime, please double check that you have an active EngagED parent portal account to ensure that you will be able to complete Express Check-In once it opens this summer. Click HERE for the EngagED parent portal.
Please note: our IT department has updated the format for your EngagED Parent Portal username as of July 2023. Your single sign on email address is NOT your personal email address. You will need to enter your username followed by @p.dcsdk12.org as your single sign on email address (i.e. username@p.dcsdk12.org). Your password is the same as your Infinite Campus parent portal password.
Trouble accessing your portal account?
If you do not have an account please reach out the Registrar at tklenke@dcsdk12.org.
If you do not know your username, please click HERE to retrieve your username.
If you know your username but have forgotten your password, please click HERE to reset your password.
Please check your email in July for further updates for Express Check-in for the 2024-25 school year.

IB Update
Congratulations to all of our TRHS IB students on the completion of another great year. Our seniors have moved on and are heading out into the world and we wish them the very best! This means that our juniors are now the top dogs as they will come back next year to complete all their hard work in the Diploma Programme. We also will be welcoming a new class of IB Diploma Candidates next fall, and are excited for them to start their DP journey.
Have a great summer everyone, and take this time to enjoy time away from school by following all of your passions and engaging in different pursuits. If you do have any questions about IB, or think your student might want to join our Junior IB cohort next fall remember to reach out to us in the IB department at trhsib11@dcsdk12.org.

Scholarship and Volunteer Opportunities
Roxborough State Park Volunteer Opportunity
Roxborough State Park is looking for 6 - 8 enthusiastic people to be our mascots at a special park event. It would be better if you are at least 5 ft.6 inches tall because of the size of the costumes. We are partnered with the Leave No Trace Center of Outdoor Ethics and were the first state park in Colorado to receive the gold standard designation of educating visitors about how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly.
Our annual event this year is June 1 from 9 -2. The event has special appearances by the mascots, Bigfoot and Colorado Parks and Wildlife Big Horn Sheep, Elbert. There are photo and engagement opportunities for visitors with the two. Your job is to wear the costume and have fun with the visitors who love to interact with these characters. No speaking is required. You will earn community service time toward your graduation requirement and have a great time!
Roxborough State Park is approximately 10 miles southwest of ThunderRidge High School. If you are interested, please email me, Sally Anderson, at sallyann55@comcast.net. You will have the opportunity to try on Big Foot before the 1st and there will be a permission form that needs to be signed.
Thanks so much!
Douglas County Libraries has a summer volunteer opportunity for teens who love to read and enjoy working with children. Apply to be a Big Buddy in our Reading Buddies program. Each selected Big Buddy will be trained to read and play literacy games with early readers of various ages to make reading fun, helping them get practice and gain confidence.
Sessions will be held at the Highlands Ranch Library on Tuesdays, June 17-July 12, 1:15-3:15 pm.
