Greetings Hesse Families,

We had a great week at Hesse. We had a great turn out for the cheer and volleyball meeting. We are excited to see so many students interested in our athletics. We also had a great turn out for our Title I and ESOL meeting. We appreciate the feedback we received. Our next Title I meeting will be in October.

Please note that picture day is this Wednesday, the 18th. Students must be in uniform for pictures.

Please make note of the following for the week of September 16th:

• Starts With Hello Week: As part of the Sandy Hook Promise, Hesse will participate in “Starts with Hello” week. It is our hope that we can foster an environment of kindness and inclusivity by simply saying, “Hello” to someone new or someone who looks like they are lonely. Encourage your student to Start with Hello this week.

• LaMancha Practice: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Please see rehearsal schedule sent out by Ms. Miller for more information.

• PTA Fundraiser: Money and orders are due Sept 17

• Picture Day: Sept 18. Uniform Required

• DEEP Writing Program: Sept 19; 3:20-4:50

• School Council Meeting: Sept 20; 7:30 AM

• Hesse Spirit Day: Students may wear spirit shirts with uniform bottoms.

Reminders:

• Please remember to complete your lunch applications no later than September 16th.

• Parents will need to sign in students if they are tardy. Additionally, early dismissal ends at 2:15 PM daily.

With the understanding that student behavior is influenced by the way students are dressed and that no student should dress in a manner that is disruptive or has an adverse effect on school activities, the following mandatory uniform standards have been developed. Students are expected to dress in the school uniform during the school day, on field trips, and during school-related activities. Hesse K-8 uniform colors are as follows: hunter green or white uniform shirts; khaki or navy uniform bottoms. Please refer to the SCCPSS Code of Conduct for full details regarding uniform guidelines/expectations.

Additionally, the Dri-FIT shirts sold by our PTA will be accepted as a uniform top. Please contact our PTA for more information.

Safety is our top priority. We need all families to work with staff members to ensure the safety of our students and staff is maintained. Our instructional day begins at 8:15 am. Students arriving at 8:15 am or later will be marked tardy and parents must walk them to the front door to sign them into school.

Students will be assigned a security number and security tags will be given to each family to use during pick-up. Anyone who is picking up a student from campus will need to have the security tag or report to the office with identification.

Please be patient during carpool! The first week or two, the carpool line moves slowly until the students learn the new routine.
