NEW: Your Sunday message from Mr. Smith
Dear Northwest High School Families,
Happy Sunday! I hope everyone remembered to fall back last night as we head into November and the first week of marking period two (2). A reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow, Monday, November 4 for a professional day and no school for students or staff on Tuesday, November 5 for Election Day. Congratulations to so many of our fall athletics teams as they either closed out their season with strong postseason battles or are continuing on into the next round. A special shout-out to our Girls Soccer team who won the regional finals for the first time in school history and to our Girls Volleyball team who will be hosting the regional championship at home this Wednesday, November 6 at 6:00 p.m. So much for which to be #JagProud!
The Annual Jewelry and Trinket Giveaway is coming! If you have any jewelry or trinkets you no longer want, please donate them to NW Free Store, room 264, and we will find a new home for them in December.
The team at Victor O’Neill Studios would like to thank your school for a great picture day! If you provided emails to the VOS team, be on the lookout for an email from Victor O'Neill Studios. If you do not see it in your inbox, check the spam/junk folder. Otherwise, you can email underclass@vosphoto.com. Any student who has not had a chance to order, it’s not too late! Also, make-up photos for grades 9-11 are on Thursday, November 7.
We are reviving the LIT MAG. Come join us for the Creative Writing Club on the 3rd Wednesday of each month in room 250. See Ms Koutsos for details in room 250.

- All students who are enrolled in AP classes are required to take their corresponding AP exam(s) in May (a schedule of exams can be found here). ALL AP students must be registered for their AP course(s) in AP classroom.
- Joining the corresponding AP Classroom creates an order for the exam. Students should have already registered for their AP Classroom(s) at the beginning of the school year. ALL students should login to their AP Accounts and check that all their courses are listed. If they are missing a course their AP teacher(s) can provide them with the join code. Students must be registered by November 15th to have their exam(s) ordered free of charge.

Additionally, students benefit from small class sizes, a high-tech learning environment, and clinical placements at county and regional hospitals. Most students who come to the program offered at USG complete their first two years at a community college and focus on STEM coursework, such as General Studies - STEM at Montgomery College. Students can learn more about the open house and register to attend here: https://www.nursing.umaryland.edu/admissions/visit-us/open-house/. Students can also get more of an idea of what it's like to be a nursing student at USG by watching a quick video of a current student's story: Joseph Alminagor, a UMSON BSN student at USG
