Good Morning Maple Grove Families!
This week is an important week for our country, and Maple Grove will be part of the action as a Polling Location on Tuesday. Please read the information below from our district, and know that we have made specific plans to keep our community of learners on track for the day. It is our plan to have a typical day of school, we just won't hold gym class in our gym facility on Tuesday. If you have any questions, please reach out.
Maple Grove: Polling Location for Tuesday (A note from our district):
Dear Families,
With Election Day on Tuesday, November 5th, we are proud to open several of our schools as polling locations. This day provides an extraordinary chance for our students to observe and learn about the democratic process in action-a foundational element of our society. It's also a meaningful opportunity for you, as parents, to engage with your children, guiding and mentoring them in understanding the values that shape our community.
As we open our doors to voters, please know that our first priority is to keep students and staff safe and secure throughout the day. We've prepared enhanced safety measures and designated specific areas for voter access to ensure that the school day runs smoothly. A Sheriff's deputy will be on-site at each polling location, providing an added layer of security for everyone's peace of mind.
This day is also an opportunity to empower our students to understand their roles in creating a positive and respectful community. Your encouragement will help them feel equipped to take on responsibilities and make respectful choices in their environment. Should any behavior fall short of our expectations, we will address it with appropriate measures, reinforcing our commitment to a safe and supportive school.

Maple Grove Bingo & Popcorn Night:
Join us on November 12 in the Maple Grove Cafeteria for a fun FACE (Family And Community Engagement) event: Bingo & Popcorn! Come play Bingo, WIN prizes, spend time with you family, and stay for our PTA meeting following the event. We hope to see you there!
Hy Vee Receipt Collection Competition:
During the month of November, we will be collecting Hy Vee Receipts to see which classrooms can bring in the most receipt totals to help earn money for our school. Any Hy Vee receipts from stores, gas stations, or drug stores in the Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, Marion, and Iowa City area count--so be sure to tell your relatives to save their receipts, too! Send in receipts for us to total up which class brings in the largest total money spent, and our top 2 classrooms will win a popcorn party to celebrate! The completion starts November 1, so be sure to start saving & sending in any current or past receipts starting Friday--you can even print off online order receipts to send in! Have questions?
