Focus on the Good
Celebrating and acknowledging the successes of students and each other
Our students and staff enjoyed the Darling's Ice Cream Truck on Friday after accomplishing our school-wide goals of earning 500 paws for expected hallway behaviors.
Derek won a competition guessing the middle school photographs of our staff members, and was presented with an Amazon gift card!
Some students worked with Mrs. Nickerson during art to make a check that we could present to Linda Bryant from the Caring Community Food Cupboard. Our school made a $500 donation to recognize the 500 paws earned.
Safety & Belonging
Operating a safe and inclusive school environment for all
In September, we had a competition for our students to guess which middle school picture belonged to which staff member. Students enjoyed looking at all the younger pictures, and staff reflected on their own time in middle school, remembering all of the joys and challenges our students are going through.
Next month, we are challenging our students with a new GOAL. We feel it is important that EVERYONE feels like a valued member of our school community, and we want our students to attempt to recognize the many staff members who go above and beyond to make our school a great place to be. Students will be talking in advisory about how they can celebrate the adults in our building (support staff, substitutes, custodians, teachers, etc.).
Consistency
Providing predictability through instruction, expectations, and daily practices
Grade 7 Parent-Teacher Conferences
Save the date! Our seventh grade will be holding parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday, 11/6 and Wednesday, 11/13 from 3:30-6:30 pm. Be on the lookout for a message from your child's homeroom teacher to schedule your time.

Assembly Guest Speaker - David Francisco
On Thursday, we will again gather as a school community to listen to a guest speaker, David Francisco, about how choices matter. David Francisco is an accomplished singer/songwriter and spinal cord injury survivor. As a participant on American Idol, his audition in 2018 has been viewed more than 50 million times around the world. He and his wife Kristi were also featured on the Ellen Show, which has been seen by millions more. He enjoys traveling the world to share his story of redemption, hope, and overcoming life’s challenges.
October Advisory - Goal Setting
This month in Advisory, students will be working on setting and achieving goals. These goals will range from individual, personal goals, to grade-wide and school-wide goals. This week, students also learned about how our choices matter and have an impact on not only ourselves, but also the people around us.
