Board Game Club
Tuesday and Thursday after school
Board Game Club is going strong! This club is open to 4th - 5th grade students and will meet every Tuesday and Thursday (3:45-5:00).
Board Game Club is a fantastic opportunity for students to engage in fun, strategic games that promote critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. Please contact Mr. Wilz for more information (iwilz@garfieldre2.net)
Choir Practice
Wednesday, Nov. 6th
3:45-4:30 p.m.
Students will meet in the music room after school for fun, music-filled rehearsals.

Homework Club
Monday- Thursday ~ 7:30-7:50 a.m.
Homework Club is available to every morning in the library, providing students with a quiet space and support to complete their homework before the school day begins. All students are welcomed.

Veteran's Day

In honor of Veterans Day, please help us recognize and celebrate the brave men and women who have served in the armed forces. We encourage families to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by our veterans and the importance of their service. Thank you to all who have served!

School Accountability Committee Meeting
Tuesday, Nov. 12th
We are excited to invite you to join our School Accountability Committee (SAC). This is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in important discussions about our school’s goals and how we can work together to support our students' success.
At the meeting, we will:
- Review our school’s academic goals for the year
- Discuss the School Performance Framework (SPF)
- Learn more about what it means to be a Title 1 school

R.A.C.E.S. Assembly
Thursday, Nov. 14th
👬 Spirit Day - Dress the same as a classmate, friend or teacher 👭
We are excited to host our upcoming Attitude assembly at Highland, where we encourage our future leaders to follow R.A.C.E.S. – Respect, Attitude, Cooperation, Effort, and Safety. During the assembly, we will gather in the gym to share and learn more about the importance of attitude, and we will also celebrate one attitude winner from each class.

Thanksgiving Feast
Wednesday, Nov. 20th
We are thrilled to invite you to our Thanksgiving Feast at Highland Elementary! We adjust grade level lunch times for this event. We are also looking for volunteers to help serve food in the kitchen, so if you're available, your help would be greatly appreciated. Please RSVP by calling the office 970-665-6800.

Know your child got on/off the bus safely.
Set up Zonar MyView Ridership
1. Download the Zonar MyView app from the App Store or Google Play.
2. Enter the School Access Code - GAR1984
3. Enter your child's unique student ID - found on their bus pass.
4. Select the notifications method (via the app or via text message.)

First bell rings at 7:55 ~ Tardy Bell rings at 8:00*
Learning begins at 8:00*
Students who arrive after 8:00 must be signed in by a parent or guardian in the front office.
Morning Student Drop Off and Parking Lot Flow
Please do not park in the drop-off zone, as it causes a traffic jam and creates safety concerns for all students. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
All students should go directly to the playground before school starts, where they can also get breakfast. Please do not send students through the front office unless it’s after 8:00.
All Visitors Are Welcome!
All visitors must have a valid ID and check in at the front office. This includes parents who walk students into the building and want to stay past the 8:00 bell.

We kindly ask all parents to update their contact information in PowerSchool as soon as possible. This is how we reach families in case of an emergency, so having the most current information is crucial. We still have 48 families who need to update their information.
