School Climate Survey Information
The Every Student Succeeds Act requires that a state include not less than one indicator of school quality or school success in the state’s accountability system. Maryland’s Protect Our Schools Act of 2017 requires that one of the school quality indicators shall be school climate surveys administered to students and educators. The purpose of the survey is to provide the school, the school system, and the State with valuable information about the learning environment in each school. We will be surveying students, teachers, and other instructional staff. Information gathered from the survey will ensure that schools across the State promote a climate that supports student learning and that educators receive critical instructional feedback.
The survey will be administered to educators during regular school hours between February 21st and April 21st. CRHS students are scheduled to take the survey on Friday, March 22, 2024. The survey will ask instructional staff and students questions on topics such as student engagement, interactions with others at the school, the school environment, and school safety.
Your responses will be combined with the responses from other instructional staff at the school. The survey is confidential and no one in the school will have access to the responses of specific students or educators. Survey results will be reported only at the school and district levels.
We are eager to get this very important information about your school and about all schools across the State. While all educators will have the opportunity to answer the survey questions, individuals may choose not to participate by refusing to answer any of the questions; however, we hope that you fully participate so that we can include your feedback in compiling this very important understanding of the school climate.
If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Brad Oberdorf.
