From the Principal
Copeland families,
It is hard to believe we are in our final nine weeks of the school year. There have been so many wonderful things to celebrate recently. Congratulations to Ms. Vigil and our 5th grade Choral Festival students. The concert was amazing! Thank you to our wonderful PTO for the awesome EPIC Play Day right before Spring Break. The kids had so much fun! We appreciate your support of our spring fundraiser and our annual movie night. Both of these events were a huge success.
The week of April 7th-11th, we celebrate our amazing assistant principals, Ms. Cranford and Ms. Willard. We appreciate all they do to support our staff, students, and community. Thank you, Ms. Cranford and Ms. Willard! We love you!
We begin STAAR testing next week for our 3rd-5th graders. Our students will take the reading test on April 8th and the math test on April 29th. Our 5th grade students will take the science test on April 15th. I know our students are ready and will shine! Please know we will have schedule changes on these days and can not allow lunch visitors.
Please remember that we have two student holidays coming up this month on April 18th and April 21st. We hope you enjoy the long weekend!
As always, thank you for your support and partnership of our staff and our school.

Copeland Colts Gallop to the Finish Line at the Superintendent's Fun Run
After a year off, the Superintendent's Fun Run has returned, and our Colts were there to join in the fun! There were bounce houses, vendor booths, snacks and both 1 mile and 5k races to test your endurance. Copeland Elementary came in 5th place for participation numbers in elementary schools, and 11th overall from the whole district.
Choral Festival 2025
The CFISD Choral Festival was held on April 2nd, and our talented team truly showed us what Copeland is all about! Of the students who auditioned, only nine students were selected from Copeland, and over 300 students from across the district performed. The songs included Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, For Good from the Wicked soundtrack, and How Far I'll Go from the Moana soundtrack, amoung others. We are so very proud of each of you, and we are so thankful to Mrs. Vigil for everything she does each year to get you read and help you grow!

Book Club Discusses Iceberg by Jennifer A. Nielson
Copeland's book club met on Friday, March 28th to discuss Iceberg , by Jennifer A. Neilson. This particular book was a historical fiction novel about a girl on board the Titanic when it sunk on it's ill-fated maiden voyage. Students were so excited to talk about the characters and their development throughout the book, the interesting historical tidbits included in the book and the even how the storyline led to a dramatic conclusion with a plot twist!
