The November 13th deadline for the TD Scholarship for Community Leadership is creeping up. Here's a great resource from the Student Awards website:

There are several contests on the Student Awards website. Tangerine is giving away $35,000. CIBC is giving away $45,000. BMO is giving away $10,000. The list goes on and on. Enter soon as some are closing at the end of October.

Schulich Leaders Scholarship $120,000
Schulich Leader Scholarships are Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarships. One hundred are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Half are valued at $120,000 for engineering scholarships and half are valued at $100,000* for science and math scholarships. Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship.
If you would like to be considered for this award, please email a completed Schulich Nomination Application, a copy of your transcript, and a copy of your academic resume to Ms. Tong by Friday, November 29.
TD Scholarships for Community Leadership ($70,000)
Are you a student in your final year of high school? Have you shown a commitment to making a positive difference in your community? You may be eligible for a TD Scholarship for Community Leadership valued at up to $70,000 over 4 years toward a post-secondary college or university education. Up to 20 scholarships will be awarded across Canada.

What You Need to Know About Applying to UVic and Camosun College
Did you know that UVic is ranked second for the best comprehensive university in Canada according to Maclean's Magazine? UVic offers automatic scholarships based on the average of your English 12 Studies or English First Peoples 12 course plus 3 grade 12 approved academic courses. The higher the average, the higher the scholarship! UVic is now accepting applications until January 31, 2025. Applicants will be notified in March/April about whether or not they are accepted.
Camosun College offers both diploma and university transfer programs. For many programs, admissions are offered on a first-come, first-served system. What does that mean? If you apply now and meet all the entrance requirements, you will be given a spot for next fall.
The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award provides university scholarships to students who exemplify the humanitarian ideals of Terry Fox by volunteering and giving back to their communities.
To be considered for the Award, applicants must be:
- In good academic standing.
- Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
- Involved in voluntary humanitarian activities (for which they have not been compensated).
- Planning to or are already studying towards their first university degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution.
What You Need to Know About Applying to UBC
The UBC application portal is now open. If you are considering UBC, give yourself plenty of time to complete the application - it requires 4 short essays.
IMPORTANT DATES:
- November 15: INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS: Deadline to submit an award application if you’re an international student and you wish to be considered for the UBC International Scholars Program awards.
- December 1: CANADIAN CITIZENS & PERMANENT RESIDENTS: Deadline to apply to UBC if you wish to be considered for a first-round offer of admission AND if you wish to be considered for the Presidential Scholars Awards and UBC Centennial Scholars Entrance Awards. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS: Deadline to apply to UBC if you wish to be considered for the UBC International Scholars Program awards.
- January 15: Applications due for the final round offer of admission.
Ontario Universities - One Application for Admissions
If you are considering post-secondary in Ontario, head on over to the Ontario Universities' Application Centre. This single application has a base rate of $156 and allows you to select 3 schools. If you would like to apply for more than 3, each additional school costs $50. As well, certain programs require additional supplemental fees and applications.
Deadlines vary at each university and sometimes depend on the program. Visit the university websites or contact the universities directly for their deadlines. If you are interested in a program but the deadline has passed, you may contact the university’s admission office for help.
Be aware of university-specific deadlines for submitting scholarship applications, transcripts and portfolios, if required, and for arranging interviews and auditions.
Major Entrance Scholarships for Ontario Universities
Entrance Scholarships
Queen's University offers several entrance scholarships for top domestic students with averages 90%+. Apply by December 8, 2024. Scholarships for international students do not require separate applications.
National Scholarship Program: up to $92,000
Entrance Scholarship for International Students up to $100,000
Western University offers several scholarships for international students. Scholarship applications will open in mid-November and will close on February 14, 2025
Guelph Top International Scholarship $42,500
Guelph Scholarships: $42,500
7 President's and 2 Lincoln Alexander Chancellor's Scholarships. Recipients are paired with a faculty mentor and provided a full-time research assistantship. Apply by Jan 27, 2025
