Dear Families,
I am excited to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! We are going to have a great year! As we count down the days until school starts, our staff is busy preparing. We are in the process of finalizing our class lists and will have these available in Skyward within the next two weeks. Our front office is now open from 8:00-3:30 (M-F), so please reach out with questions. Our building theme this year is "Wild About Learning". This year our building goals will focus on reading, behavior, and family engagement! We look forward to sharing our wild passion for teaching and learning with you!
A few updates/information:
Arrival & Dismissal Map: Our traffic pattern is changing. All car riders will enter and exit on the west side of the building. Please see our map below!
Our Schedule: Our school day is from 8:30-3:30 (M-W, & F) and 9:30-3:30 on Thursdays. Students are considered tardy if they arrive at school after 8:30 (M-W, & F) and after 9:30 on Late Start Thursdays. If your student(s) is going to be late or absent please call us at 913-727-1128.
Bus transportation: Must be arranged by families. Returning families must register by July 31st @ 3:00PM. Family Engagement & PTA: We have several events planned this year. Our first events is our Gardening Group Meeting August 10th from 9:00-12:00. All are welcome, please bring any basic supplies if you have these.

Our first Parent-Teacher Association meeting is August 22nd. The doors open at 6:00 for socializing and the meeting starts at 6:30. See more information below.
Before/After School care: Please see Y-care flyers (coming soon). Parents/Guardians using Y-care will enter on the west side (2/3 side) through doors 20 & 21.
Routines:This is a great time to start, or revisit, routines. Some important school year routines include a consistent bedtime, getting plenty of sleep, and being prepared for school each day. Typically, routines take a few weeks to get down. Practice helps!.
As you are considering how your student will go home each day, please be as consistent as possible. Additionally, it is normal for students to feel excited, scared, and/or worried as we get ready to start school. Families are welcome to visit our playgrounds before school starts so students can become familiar with these. If you or your students have big worries about attending school, please reach out to our counselors so we can help:
