๐ A Note From The Administration ๐
Hello Husmann Families!
As the year continues to wind down, we are taking advantage of the nice weather and having our students outside as often as possible for recess.
With that comes daily conversations at school about keeping hands/feet to ourselves, using kind words, including others and doing our best to get along.
We would appreciate it if that could be a daily conversation at home as well! Together, we will help our Cougars finish this school year on a positive note!
Your Partners in Education,
Mr. Sromek, Principal & Ms. Fitzgerald, Assistant Principal
๐๐ Any Families in Need? ๐๐
Our wonderful church partner, Bethany Lutheran, is putting together summer activity baskets for families who are in need. If your family could benefit from one of the baskets, please email our school social worker Shauna Becker (sbecker@d47.org) with your family name, children's name and ages, and what some of their favorite activities are! The baskets will need to be picked up from Husmann the last week of school. Please reach out to Shauna Becker with any questions! Any summer activity basket requests should be emailed by May 8th.

Dear Parents,
School will soon be over for the 2023-2024 year. Please make arrangements to pick up any medications and supplies that may be in the health office prior to 10:30am on May 24th, 2024. Any medication or supplies that are left in the health office after that time will be discarded. Medications must be picked up by an adult. Students are not allowed to bring them home. Thank you for your cooperation in advance.
Enjoy your summer!

๐ National Night Out T-Shirt Design Contest ๐
The Crystal Lake Police Department needs your child's help with designing the 2024 National Night Out T-shirt! They are calling on Crystal Lake 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to submit their National Night Out t-shirt design by June 28th to Officer Stolzman at kstolzman@crystallake.org. The winning artwork will be featured on the official NNO t-shirt and handed out during the event. Learn more about National Night Out here: https://natw.org/.
๐ Free Bookstore ๐
We're thrilled to share that the district purchased books to expand every student's library! Every District 47 school will have a "free bookstore" allowing students to shop and choose 2-3 books of their choice. English and Spanish books are available. This initiative, paid for by ESSER funds, aims to empower students by giving them the opportunity to choose books that interest them, igniting a lifelong love for reading. Book shopping at these free bookstores will continue throughout May. Chat with your child about their book selections!
๐ฃ We need your feedback! 2024 D47 Communications Survey ๐ฃ
Please take a moment to share your thoughts on our District 47 communications. Your input helps us improve how we keep you informed. This survey is anonymous and does not collect email addresses.
