Willow Parent Bulletin # 16
December 15, 2023
Don't Forget....
- If you have a new email or phone number, be sure to update it with the school.
- Any time you are going to be in the building, you need to present your driver's license or state ID at the front counter. We will hold it until you leave. There are no exceptions.
- Once snow starts, the buses times will shift a little as they safely navigate the roads.
- Outside food treats to share with the class are not permitted.
- Outside deliveries of food, for example Door Dash, will not be accepted. Parents can, however, drop off food for their own children. Please have them here BEFORE your child's lunch begins.
- If your Wildcat is sent home from school with a fever or vomiting, he/she/they should be kept home the following day and until all symptoms subside.
- If you drop off in the morning and your Wildcat is having breakfast, please be here by 7:45 AM.
- Next Friday is an early release day at 11:40 AM.
- Take time to catch your breath and enjoy!
E-Learning
Even though the weather has been pleasant for this time of year, we are still preparing in the event there is an "E-learning Day." ( formerly known as snow days). For our students, we will use a combination of Zoom time with the class/teacher and independent work. We will be sending home a couple of things for you next week. Please stash them someplace safe in the event we will not be in session in the building. You will also have access on the District website.
One of those items is a QR code unique to your child called a Clever badge. He/she will use this in conjunction with the iPad. Hanging it on the fridge or someplace easily seen is a great idea. The second thing that will come home will be a packet of work. Only do these if we have a snow day. Your Wildcat's teacher will be going over specific pieces during the daily Zoom times, so completing it before then is of no benefit.
When we know ahead of time that the weather may not cooperate, we will be sending home your child's school issued iPad. It will come home charged and should be turned off when not doing the specific assignments the teacher has requested. We will not be sending home charging cords. The iPad should return to school with your child the next day we are in session so it can continue to be used as a learning tool in class.
Your child's day will start with a morning Zoom with the teacher. He/she/they will email you the link. Attendance will be taken. Students will have assignments to work on during the day until they check back in with the teacher again in the afternoon.
In Our Big Band Era
Our 2nd grade classes got to experience what it was like to play brass instruments during music class. Thank you to our music teacher, and her husband who works in the HF music department, for providing this great experience!
Panther Choir
The 7th and 8th graders from James Hart came to sing for our Wildcats on Wednesday. The staff LOVES to see our former students whenever they come back. Thanks for a wonderful start to our morning!
